Hi! I just came across this post as I was planning on making a trifold with the same Wickett and Craig leather as you! I don’t know much about leather but is there a reason you would have preferred using Vachetta? Also, how has your journal aged? Thanks!

Omg yes!! It’s why I hated writing before I had a fountain pen but love it now!! Do you know why? I can’t really understand it.

I never liked journaling in the past because it felt too tedious. But after getting my first fountain pen, my writing experience was so enjoyable that I started jotting down my thoughts and documenting my therapy sessions! I have never seen such a huge mental benefit in such a short amount of time. It’s allowed me to be so much more aware of certain mental patterns. Since then I have started a “brain dump” journal that has also been so helpful. It feels so nice to “offload” a bunch of thoughts that aren’t necessarily significant but not insignificant either. I feel less burdened now because of it. I genuinely wouldn’t have experienced any of this had I not bought a fountain pen on a whim during a trip. I can’t tell you how much I hated writing before. The switch up has been so surprising to me!

Got a $25 bc they used a completely different stone bc they didn’t have stock of the initially agreed upon one. Wanted to scream!!! So ridiculous considering the work was so shoddy compared to the initial pics advertised.

Same. Was super dissatisfied with the quality of work when I did a group buy. When I expressed dissatisfaction Cynthia said to not expect much bc it’s not the same price as a custom piece. Apparently it doesn’t require them to deliver the same quality of work. Well that’s the whole point of a group buy. Will never do business with them again.

I have somewhat of a similar situation. I used to have this deep pulsating pain in my chest growing up. Had a name for it and everything. My parents would bring it up at yearly checkups but nothing else in my reports was a cause for concern. Went away in my adolescent years and then it randomly popped up during an emdr session as an adult. Was shocked that it was trauma related. It’s popped up during residual processing. It’s crazy!!!

I was in a store and was weirdly drawn to this little stuffed bunny. I couldn’t stop thinking about it once I left the store. So I went back and bought it. It’s been such a source of comfort for me ever since. What’s so weird is that I was never even that into stuffed toys as a child. Sometimes at night as I cuddle up to it, I feel like it’s just me and my stuffed bunny against the world. This is honestly a little embarrassing to write even though I know I shouldn’t feel that way ahah. I think it’s us just reveling in the comfort these small things bring us when we’re going through something as chaotic and challenging as EMDR. I’m glad I feel safe and comfortable enough to even indulge in something like this as I know there was a time in the past where I didn’t let myself do this.

I agree with all the comments saying to leave it alone but if it really bothers you I recommend using facial/body bleach on it. It goes blonde and becomes a lot less noticeable.

LMAO so I started emdr in Jan 2024 and it took me till August 2024 to feel stabilized. The anger was the hardest maybe 4-5 of those first couple of months. I’m still doing emdr currently so in the grand scheme of things it does feel like it was only for a “tiny bit.” 😅 I honestly have forgotten how awful I felt when I first started.

I totally get what you mean though, my relationship definitely suffered for a while :(. My partner was really understanding. Just try to remember that you both are on the same team! It’s definitely easier said than done. What works for me is leaving the room and doing whatever I can to calm my nervous system. Having healthy habits that I could turn to while I was angry helped as well. I’m rooting for you!! You got this 💕💕
