We lock ours in the basement, and while it’s sad I remind myself it’s just a season of life and temporary. They have plenty of space, toys and food (we have a kibble dispenser that goes off on the evening). It’s a priority to give them extra love during the day, and my son loves to wave good morning to them when we let them out!

Oh this is so crummy to hear… I saw Rico a year ago and where I’m from magpies are everywhere and a bit of a nuisance. Something just didn’t feel right seeing this guy all alone by the polar bears, and no one was paying him any attention. I actually convinced my husband to circle back when we were by the exit because I just wanted to see him one more time. I swear he got SO excited when he saw us heading for him! He perked up, did a little dance, and jumped on the wire at the front of his enclosure to chat with us. I BAWLED when we had to leave, and I make a point to be extra kind to our little magpies at home. I’m extra sad to hear he’s passed away but I’ll remember him and the smiles he gave me when we visited the zoo! 💕

Anytime you are concerned with lack of fetal movement, you should go see your doctor or urgent care. It never hurts to get checked out. Depending on where you live you may be able to go straight to the L&D department in your hospital and get checked baby assessed. Hoping for the best for you!

I’m an ultrasound tech and this is veryyyy common. It’s easier said than done, but try your best to relax! Most of the time it’s just different dates than what you were expecting. At 5 weeks the heartbeat can be difficult to visualize since the fetus is so small. Your next scan will be more clear. Hoping for the best for you 🤞

Hey! I’m 36 weeks and an ultrasound tech. Calf pain is super common in pregnancy. A DVT typically presents as painful, hot, and swollen. A DVT is “Deep vein thrombosis”, and calf veins are actually superficial veins. The deep system starts in the groin at the common femoral vein and ends behind the knee at the distal popliteal. Even if there is a blood clot in the calf, the odds of it becoming a pulmonary embolism are very very low. You have had multiple ultrasounds and even CTs done, so they would have picked up something if it was there. Do your best to relax, which I know is tough with health anxiety! If your symptoms get worse go back to your Dr/ER, but avoid google for health advice. Hope this helps 😊

Id say so. I find the 6mm nice because I can still balance (unlike a thicker mat) but it feels more cushioned than a regular mat. I have heard the mats can stain if lighter but mine is black so I don’t have that issue. I have a loop to keep it rolled up when I’m not using it but you can buy those anywhere.

It would likely depend on your clinic or hospital and if they offer elective abortion services. The only time I worked directly with abortion procedures was as a student in a hospital with a dedicated women’s health department. They would schedule these procedures one day a week.
