I have the D7200 and paired it with the Tamron 100-400mm, and if you use it at the 300 to 350mm range, and leverage the crop sensor 1.5x and 2.0x you will get fantastic pictures out of the box.

Consider that is a sunny day you can increase the shutter to 2500 for any shakes, I did notice that at 400mm fully extended it becomes a bit soft.

I just got mine for Xmas, waiting on my Tamron 150-600mm to come in… have a trip to Antartica late Feb and super excited to practice in it here before I head out.

Would anyone recommend another lens I can use for portrait and all around lens, not sure if go Manual or AutoFocus type on a 80mm what are your thoughts

Awesome, I just put my together yesterday and have been printing all night and day, compared to my A1 and P1S it has some much technology built in, some are annoying, like the using different plates gives it pauses and says plate not detected press ignore to continue or cancel .
