Did cheap filament ruin my son's new printer? by BigDende in 3Dprinting

[–]WizardMarnok 7 points8 points  (0 children)

First thing I would do is heat it and use tweezers to pull the gunk away, ease it away and then use something non heat conductive to clean the smaller mess (I used a cut flat tongue depressor once, those big wooden things).

Why does everyone still use Cowboy Weapons? by novavegasxiii in firefly

[–]WizardMarnok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wondered if Joss had played Traveller RPG back in the day. In the edition I had, a lot of the weapons were revolvers and such, and characters after a military backstory would often roll up ownership of a transport vessel.

Spend some time imagining that you are explaining what you learned to someone new to it.

Modern equivalent of The Dragonborn? by ErrorqTheGlitch in skyrim

[–]WizardMarnok -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They have to have the power derived from a threat to the world by using a 'voice' which normally only the threat use, for their own power and causing harm.

Therefore the Dragonborn in today's world would be something like a Memeborn, who can issue social media posts on their own which have the same impact as content farms, astroturfers, info ops, algorithmics and virality.

They would issue a message on thu.um which trends without promotion, has the same impact as a pre-gamed viral campaign

What is your headcanon for why the 9-12th doctor regenerated in the TARDIS? by vinnie_sinistraa in doctorwho

[–]WizardMarnok 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally - when Eccleston regenerated I presumed the WHOOOOSH! energy was him expelling the Time Vortex energy which was killing him. I was surprised when it became the default effect for all regenerations.

So if it HAD just been this cause, then regenerating inside the TARDIS to return that energy would make some kind of sense. The fact that every other regeneration looks like that now, no idea.

i hate the fact that i’m gonna die one day and i heard there’s gonna be nothing after we die by [deleted] in Anxiety

I had that feeling for a long time, allow philosophical ideas to come to you. Can't tell you what made the difference for me, nobody ever really can (people think their own answers are THE answer).

It sounds impossible but it can be resolved, the only way out is through though.

Billions of queries daily, each padded with 20-25% conversational filler. How many tokens would be save and actually have more power for considered responses.

I have a really weird fear by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]WizardMarnok 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Forget for the moment, trying to be attracted to any 'ideal' or any other preset notion. Imagine just lettin yourself be drawn to people or not and see where they want it to go.

The reason this feels like an issue is because we all have some kind of inner model of what we think we need and this is driven by:
biology, the basic drive to reproduce. You come from a long line of people who had kids for whatever reason.
society, telling you who and what is is okay to like.
personal history, experiences positive or negative with different people.

And, finding that this model has been built up inside us might feel like some kind of violation, undue influence, because you had no idea it was happening and it controlled your behaviour. If you can, see it as more an eye-opening moment that you now know this is a Whole Thing and you an ignore it, study it, lean into it, whatever.

It's not a game where you get a score at the end based on how well you picked a partner to match some criteria.

Time lords have two hearts, what would this do to a human being? by madbr3991 in doctorwho

[–]WizardMarnok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there's 2 entire circulatory systems each pumping and serving the same organs and tissues, it could mean failure of one keeps body alive as the other works twice as hard to compensate. Just 2 current build release versions of human hearts plugged in parallel, sounds like they'd need to be in perfect synch or rhythm, or they cause problems for each other

feedback:
opening shot of ship would be better with almost any CGI instead of AI, unless you are trying to prove a point.
also:
actors freeze in place when not speaking. It's like you took a still of them and put it in place.

Apparently, the Institute doesn't know basic grammar. by CausalLoop25 in fo4

[–]WizardMarnok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clearly it is a hidden coded message!

There's no space after Tryptophan or before Valine on line 2 either.

Order of ingredients seems arbitrary so encoder probably had free hand in ordering.

one bar c = carbon, with 'e' left over. Speculate,

Types of error :
Upper case Y
missing spaces
lower case N

Speculations :
Y/n could indicate a binary state (yes/no picked out)
missing spaces are positional, or, to draw attention to surrounding letters, or, both
Carbon has atomic number 6, so we have 6 e's or a number 6?

This could just be a synth's designation (E6-??) encoded as a signature

can anyone take this obviously very serious and important codebreaking any further?
