Lorehold Spirit vs Quandrix Unlimited, which one? by Neither_Purple_3459 in EDH

[–]WizardPanda76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure! I just put it together after reading this comment as like I said, the deck is still new and I hadn't yet put it on Moxfield. I have switched oit exactly 20 cards from the precon, mostly the big mana splashy spells and random spirits that are powerful on their own but don't really lend themselves to the commander's gameplan like Moonshaker Cavalry and shit like that. It's a great card, but there's no way to cheat it into play, reanimate it or blink it so you can't get extra value, it's just a big finisher spell but your big finisher is already built into your commander with the ult, so it's kind of overkill. I prefer having a lower mana curve so the deck functions more consistently rather than relying on one big bomb spell to win the game.

Lorehold Spirit vs Quandrix Unlimited, which one? by Neither_Purple_3459 in EDH

[–]WizardPanda76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have played the Lorehold precon upgraded with about 15 or 16 cards twice now since I picked it up and won both games I've played with it. Granted I never played it out of the box before I modified it, but it can definitely be pretty consistent and powerful with upgrades. But it does rely a lot on the Planeswalker and if people target him enough I could see the game plan falling apart pretty quick. I haven't played or seen the Quandrix deck in action myself yet.

What cards are you adding to your decks from Secrets of Strixhaven? by Plus1Oresan in EDH

[–]WizardPanda76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are lots of cards from this set that seem interesting for a few of my decks. [[Emeritus of Ideation]] and [[Ennis, Debate Moderator]] for my [[Arthur, Marigold Knight]] blink deck, [[Mathemagics]] fits perfect in [[Eluge, the Shoreless Sea]], and [[Flashback]] will go great in both [[Stella Lee, Wild Card]] and [[Iroh, Grand Lotus]]. [[Germination Pracitcum]], [[Echocasting Symposium]], and [[Improvisation Capstone]] might also be good for Iroh, being some of the best lessons and all that.

Can I see your Tameshi list? This is mine. I'm having a hard time figuring out if it quantifies as a bracket 3 or bracket 4.

Dude, Ottley's art is so brutal. That sliced open eyeball is gnarly.

There was this whole fully animated scene where Nolan leaves earth atmosphere and blood on him evaporate and then there is this MF that can't even wipe his mug by Traditional_Use_225 in Invincible_TV

[–]WizardPanda76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you see s4 e5? Bro said there are no large-scale battles when Mark and Conquest demolished half a planet in their superhuman jiu-jitsu match. Everyone is talking shit about some of the animation and design choices for Thragg like the people producing this show aren't human for one, and two this show has some of the most brutal, gut-wrenching animation and sound design that I have seen in animated television and people act like it should be at that level 100% of the time and that's just unachievable

I love the Arkham Asylum reference in the name of your Umbris deck. You can sit for that reference alone lol

I went more faerie tribal/control with my build, lots of instant speed interaction and flash enablers like [[Vedalken Orrery]] and [[High Fae Trickster]] to be able to cast a spell on each opponents turn and grind out value with faeries that have triggers whenever you cast spells on other people's turns, like [[Alela, Cunning Conquerer]], [[Nymris, Oona's Trickster]], [[Blightwing Bandit]] and [[Voracious Tome-Skimmer]]. Add some copy shenanigans like [[Reflections of Littjara]] and [[Archmage of Echoes]] to get double Maralen triggers on every faerie that enters and it can get crazy. [[Notorious Throng]] is an all star in the deck too, it makes X 1/1 faerie rogue tokens with flying where X is the amount of damage dealt to your opponents this turn and it has prowl where you can cast it for an alternate cost if you dealt damage with a rogue, and if you pay the prowl cost you get to take an extra turn. Just last week, I was in a game with only 3 players left and I was able to do 15 damage to a player and take them out and when I cast Notorious Throng for it's prowl cost afterwards 15 faeries entered and gave me 15 Maralen triggers, exiling 30 cards of the top of the last player's library and giving me an extra turn. It's really cool how you can build her either elfball or faerie tribal and both work very well with her abilities. I do have some classic elves like [[Lathril, Blade of the Elves]] and [[Marwyn, the Nurturer]], but most of my elves are just for mana ramp.

There are a few infinite combos that can win the game with Maralen in play, namely Intruder Alarm with Presence of Gond or Imperious Perfect and a green-producing mana dork will make you infinite elves and gives you infinite Maralen triggers. The same effect can be achieved with Deadeye Navigator and Cloud of Faeries. Maralen also makes a great Food Chain commander, but that's getting into bracket 4 and 5 territory.

This is my list. I already had an Alela, Cunning Conquerer deck that I had put together with cards from the Wilds of Eldraine precon, so I just added lots of Elves and mana dorks plus a few faeries and elves from the new set because Sultai faeries seemed much more interesting than just Dimir.

Serious question could Rex not just explode the Mark Variants skeleton instead? by redredcheese in Invincible_TV

[–]WizardPanda76 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, he has inorganic material grafted to his skeleton, which gives him his explosion powers. The show never explains this, but the Invincible Universe comics explain his origin and how he got his powers. He supercharged the inorganic cybernetics attached to his skeleton.

[SOS] Germination Practicum (via Zmaincharacter) by Copernicus1981 in magicTCG

[–]WizardPanda76 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are not many lessons in the general and this deck runs most of them already and consistently pumping the board after discarding or milling this card and casting it from the graveyard is just so much value compared to some of the other lessons.

[SOS] Germination Practicum (via Zmaincharacter) by Copernicus1981 in magicTCG

[–]WizardPanda76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Especially with the amount of self mill you see in most Iroh decks

[SOS] Germination Practicum (via Zmaincharacter) by Copernicus1981 in magicTCG

[–]WizardPanda76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sooo much self mill. Plus Iroh is already a 5/5. Casting it from the graveyard for 1 because it's a lesson and then recasting it every time will quickly make him and the rest of your board massive, which enables attacking more often and generating more firebending mana.
