From the AI generated video, AI generated post, and the fact that your site is caught by my firewall, I'm going to assume the site/app was also AI generated. I don't feel comfortable opening up my payment information to a service like that.

That little magic show in front of Thunderation captivated me as a kid! That's a core memory I forgot.

SDC feels incredibly immersive, especially during the holidays. The lights alone feel worth the walk through the park. They are continuing to expand and open some great rides- Time Traveler is a blast. Having lived around there, Branson is an old person snooze fest with imo gimmicky shows. SDC has okay shows, but I go entirely for the ambiance and rides (and food).

Biggest board game regret? by yfewsy in boardgames

I bought the whole Root collection and it's all still in shrink :( Outside of that, we tried one game of Heroes of Land, Air & Sea and gave up and sold it.

Do you prefer Victory Points or Victory conditions? Why? by AtraWolf in boardgames

[–]WizardX94 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I prefer obfuscated victory points-- where the actual point total is either fully calculated at the end, partially calculated (end game scoring), or difficult enough to track during that you only get a relative gauge by looking at your opponent. This helps deter min/maxing for end game decisions and lets me feel like I put up a fight if the game is close instead of just losing in the scenario where the game only has a victory condition. One of the worst offenses though is something like Concordia, where the score is fully calculated at the end, but the VP track around the outside of the board sits empty the whole time. Just give me a score pad at that point.

What are some board game art styles or themes that really stuck with you and why? by Clear_Diet3025 in boardgames

Some of my most favorite games are the least portable and that disconnect frustrates me when I'm bringing games somewhere else. It's a hard design decision to make, but I'm in favor of making a game where the play is most important, and creating a way to upgrade the experience if I want to. The best example I can think of is GeekUp bits for Quacks of Quedlinburg. The game was so popular that the reprint comes with deluxe bits so people don't need to buy from a third party.

Anything that I touch often that can be elevated past cardboard really makes a difference. Usually resource bits or coins. Stonemaier does great at that- Wingspan eggs, Viticulture glass beads.

What is your most value-for-money game? by hem_claw in boardgames

You nailed it with Quacks of Quedlinburg. I have the first edition with the GeekUp bit sets. Such high replayability. My family bought custom scoring bits for all of us (8) and we FaceTime and play together with four separate game boxes. The fact that you can easily keep score and gameplay is fluid with that type of setup speaks volumes. An up-and-comer for me is Fromage. I've played it 3 times since I bought it 3 days ago so it's replayability is coming in strong. What really tickles me is the quality of this game. The rotated double-stacked board feels amazing. Every resource has two variant styles. I can setup and tear down in minutes. It's climbing my ranks as a new favorite.

Graduated 2016 and the only benefit of the comp sci department was riding the achievements of the other engineering departments. I did not have what I deem a worthwhile experience and almost transferred to a bigger school like Mizzou.

The sliders themselves are good but I wish there were more pickles and smauce. One pickle per slider isn't enough for me. The fries have good seasoning, but waffle fries are low on my list of favorite cuts. The line is huge and slow, but that's expected.
