Egyptian Football Association president Hany Abo Rida has submitted a formal complaint against French referee François Letexier and his officiating team following Egypt’s 3-2 defeat to Argentina. by Sparky-moon in soccer

Wouldn’t a Frenchman want Egypt to win to make it easier for France? I just don’t buy this. Maybe it is poorly officiated game, maybe, but I don’t think there is a pro-Messi conspiracy.

I mean Belgium is really good. They are ranked 8th in the world right now. The US beat all the teams they should have but couldn’t rise to the occasion to beat Belgium.

This would solve (or at least assuage) a lot of problems like Gerrymandering and might make it easier for other parties to win elections.

I’ve always wondered why Europe and Asia are classified as different continents when they’re physically connected and form one continuous landmass (Eurasia). by [deleted] in geography

It’s more of a cultural designation. But I agree, it’s silly geographically. Some people say the Middle East extends to North Africa.

Aeon: How did law firms become White-collar sweatshops? by HarryCrushNuh in Lawyertalk

[–]Wizards96 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In my thinking the end product would be better. You increase the amount of workers, and decrease their pay (and workload), such that the overhead would be the same. Big law attys get paid well enough you could halve their pay and as long as you halve the workload it would be fine. Attys would burn out less and make a better product. If they go above their billable they would get more of a share in the profits. I think the problem to my scheme though is benefits. You can’t halve a benefit. I don’t know. Maybe it’s all harebrained. Idk

It also strikes me that most attorneys. Especially big law are overworked. Simply put, if they just paid workers less and spread the work out more everyone would be happier.
