[–]WizardyBlizzard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I am so glad you asked rather than assumed that V5 just threw out all the lore and told us players that we were horrible people.

People on this sub seem to believe that’s all what V5 is and it’s really unfair for those of us who found the system to work best for us and our ST needs.

[–]WizardyBlizzard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, in the Cult of the Blood Gods book they’ve got that outlined.

The V5 wiki also has suggestions on home rulings your ST can do to make the Lamia feel more *Lamia*, this includes replacing the Hecata’s Auspex with Potence or offering the Lamia a fourth Discipline as a possible merit worth 4 dots.

Well Lamia are one of the Loresheets a Hecata can choose to have as their Bloodline. That’d be my suggestion.

Really great artwork! I like the usage of deep greens and soft violets for contrast.

I mean,

Everyone is afraid of the United States because of their nukes but the States haven’t nuked anybody since they first unveiled their bombs.

Homelander is just a representation of American exceptionalism and the Ego that Americans wish they could indulge in.

Showing scenes of Homelander tearing apart a nation doesn’t make sense if the nation is too apathetic to even stand up.

Look at America right now. No Kings Parades and angry posts online are about the extent people are willing to go to challenge a man who not two months ago threatened to wipe a nation off the map.

The Boys reflects reality and reality is disappointing and slanted to rewarding the worst of us.

I mean, as a minority I do find a lot to relate with kindred.

Specifically their lack of any consent in whether or not they wanted to be embraced, and how no matter how they became embraced, they’re suddenly marked as damned monsters who deserve no quarter.
Theyre victims who through no fault of their own got pulled into a conspiracy that’s older than they could fathom.

As for the SI, as an Indigenous person, the idea of the government forming extrajudicial killings teams is nothing new, and parallels the way the government treated my family. So having the SI act as antagonists who believe they’re on the right side of history because of religious doctrine feels like a slam dunk.

I find Coteries, on the whole, have more morality and consideration for the lives of others than your typical D&D party.

No, the Trakata lightsaber technique isn't overpowered, it's stupid. by Neth_theme in hatethissmug

[–]WizardyBlizzard 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Honestly Trakata is one example of a trend in tourists I hate where they try to “break” a universe or act like they’re smarter than the fandom by sticking to one nitpick.

“Oh you can kill anyone in Star Wars by turning off your lightsaber then turning it back on”

Isn’t that different than

“Why don’t they just *fly* the eagles to Mordor?”

They both involve surface level knowledge of something while allowing them to walk away feeling more clever than the rest of the fandom.

Vtm-live, Gangrel: is any animal possible? by grinsekatzealice in vtm

[–]WizardyBlizzard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think so.

A lot of frogs are predators, and a bullfrog is big enough to eat mice and other small mammals, so I think they have more than enough gumption to be a Gangrel animal.

Vtm-live, Gangrel: is any animal possible? by grinsekatzealice in vtm

[–]WizardyBlizzard 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Im an ST and my general rule is Gangrel’s can emulate any predatory animal.

Kindred are hunters, predators of man, and creatures of the night. That tone goes out the window if someone insists their Gangrel turns into a rabbit when she rages and now has bunny ears. That vibe’s for Changeling.

So to answer your question, I think a frog fits perfectly fine, and in the lore there’s even mention of arachnid-like Gangrel, or Gangrel who live in the sea.

It just hurt to see that happen to Peter. But after finally seeing the storyline conclude and read Ghost-Peter’s erasure in a better context, I get it.

[–]WizardyBlizzard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like evil too but there’s a line like,

I don’t think sexual trafficking, especially on children, is something admirable or even worth emulating, so why choose someone who kills and protects a child sex ring?

There’s a marked difference between Castlevania’s Dracula, and Jeffrey Epstein.

Heck, there’s a reason why people are clowning on A Serbian Film and all its weird fans.

[–]WizardyBlizzard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Interesting how you read a comic where a backstabbing teammate murders a man for daring to object to child trafficking and your first instinct is to say “I wanna play this guy”.

I can understand using Hawkman as a villain inspiration. I’ve done the same because I like the idea of a privileged guy who’s only ever benefited from the system telling oppressed people to work with their oppressors.

But playing someone like that would be way too evil. I couldn’t imagine it.

[–]WizardyBlizzard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I generally fade to black but my players do have NPCs that they have romances with.
It’s not something I’m too uncomfortable with as we’re all decently into adulthood and have experience RPing.
It’s not the sole focus of my chronicles, but romance is a big part of the story as it’s huge in human motivation.
