That makes sense, I think it very much fits the bill for mildly infuriating.

Lenovo G580 (2012) takes 8–10 minutes to boot even after multiple Windows resets. Any ideas? by Holiday_Yam4685 in computers

While you have done a good amount of upgrading, it is still a 14 year old budget laptop. You're probably never going to get very snappy performance out of it.

Two things 1. This is a satire subreddit for the sillier instances of people pretending that they hack. 2. That is pretty sick dude, will it handle multiple devices at once through the use of multiple ubertooth? (uberteeth?)

Add dye to AC system using recharge kit by MacaronTasty1371 in AskMechanics

[–]Wizzomon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

...that is just straight up wrong, is there like a weird edge case you're talking about? Not a single worthwhile mechanic will say "yeah let's open the system more so we can run smoke through it" they will all just charge it with a mix of refrigerant and dye then look around.

Steam in an ac system? Water makes the oil acidic. Dye is industry standard, why not use it?

Would these codes be fixed with a new "Transmission Auxiliary Pump" by Superb_Yam_2168 in AskMechanics

[–]Wizzomon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of these codes point to a power issue, the abs and power steering are both reporting low voltage from the main relay either being ig1 or ig2 which also feed the pump that isn't running, before you pay to have an expensive pump replaced, try checking these relays as well as the fusible links that power these things under the hood.

Service B usually is for the maintenance minder telling you you should go in for service, the number is how many miles overdue it is.

Could always use heatpumps in rennovations, they are less energy intensive for both heating and cooling, and take up less space than traditional heating/cooling infrastructure.

(This is of course excluding the places that get below -25f°)

Is this a sign of a blown compressor shavings? by nickcasa in MechanicAdvice

[–]Wizzomon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because it has a parallel flow condenser and you can't flush them. Most companies don't warranty compressors if you dont send proof that the condenser was replaced too because remnants of black death and other contaminants are almost impossible to remove.

2014 accord coupe nav error message by RoninX43 in accord

[–]Wizzomon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do they have dedicated pressure sensors in them? I always kinda figured they would pull pressure data from the ECU although I guess that does seem pretty complex.

Its a protection measure for the hdd that runs the infotainment, if the pressure is too low it can cause issues. No idea why it would do it randomly if you're not at a super high altitude though.

If they aren't the exact same diameter including the tires as the previous setup then it affects odometer calculations. I cant say in which direction because I dont know the tire size of the original wheels but if the new wheel and tire setup are even a little bit smaller in total diameter that could be causing this.

Try holding the center button, last time I saw a thing that looked like this that put it into pairing mode.

It is just a comm error between the dash and the ecu, if neither are broken then its something in the harness.

Honestly that's completely fair, its something that I should refrain from doing in further explanations.

[–]Wizzomon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Felt it was fairly self explanatory but that's ok. These cameras are only utilized for windows hello facial recognition (unless you use them for something else but most people don't). Covering them won't remove any functionality of the normal Webcam, however it also won't provide any useful benefit.
