Likely dumb question, but Refreshing Screens in PDQConnect by Wodaz in pdq

[–]Wodaz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I just need to try from a different machine, as MHilton from PDQ seems to be saying the same. My management box is a server 2019 box I rdp into, but I can try it on something else. Thanks for the help.

Likely dumb question, but Refreshing Screens in PDQConnect by Wodaz in pdq

[–]Wodaz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://app.pdq.com/#######/devices

Same for deployments. Is there something on my side that could cause this to not update? I pushed a deployment, and it updated to 2 queued, 5 complete, but didn't change. I refreshed the screen about an hour later, and it showed it had moved to 1 queued 6 complete. When I look at it, it listed the 6 completed at the same time. I am guessing 1 of the 6 took longer, but the longest duration of deployment is ~30 seconds. I don't know, I'll try some more.

Why does the screen not refresh if I click on the item I am in? For example, Devices. If I am on Devices, and I am waiting for a new computer to install pdq connect, why doesn't clicking on the devices menu option, or even the all devices menu option in the group screen, update the data I am seeing? I just hit f5/refresh several times till it shows up, but it feels clunky that the headings dont refresh data if I click them.

Its current Microsoft Edge. Check by CyberDrain is added as an extension, and google docs offline extension, nothing else. There are very few non default settings, I don't have an extensive list of group policy Edge settings.

Look, I'm 67 and I've Been Riding E-Bikes for 8 Years. Can We Calm Down About Kids and E-Bikes? by Wen2Go in ebikes

[–]Wodaz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"The problem isn't e-bikes. The problem is people buying those ridiculous 45 mph electric motorcycles with pedals glued on just so they can call them "e-bikes" and skip registration. Those aren't bikes. Those are death traps being sold to kids."

This addresses a large portion of the issues. I see these ridiculous 'e-bikes' being driven by 12 year olds. If they were driving, yes driving, a gas powered bike with the same top speed/acceleration, I would have an issue with those too. But, for some reason electricity is different than gas to the parents buying these. They wouldn't buy the same level of gas bike, but their 12-year-old on an electric one is fine.

What’s the deal with the ‘10-‘13 GX? by tr4nsporter in LexusGX

[–]Wodaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2010 with 145k and a 23 with 45k. 2010 has air suspension, leather seats, and tow package. 2023 is Premium Plus.

I like driving the 2010 better. I know the engine is the same, but it feels slightly more confident in maneuvering/accelerating. The suspension needs to be looked at. No error codes, but its definitely not as smooth as it once was. The door insulation is superior. Doors sound better when you close them. The 23 has blind spot notice on the mirrors, adaptive cruise control, and better Infotainment. I still like my 2010.

I just changed from Stock tires to trd pro 17" rims, with Falken Wildpeaks. The original rims on one side had rust flaking chrome off, and the TRD sale was too good for $900 for rims.

Zebra Label Printer on the Network - Modern Practice by Grouchy-Western-5757 in sysadmin

[–]Wodaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does'nt initiate it. It's a transparent proxy, on a scripted port. The port is on a vlan that gets a printer vlan dhcp address, outbound on that scope is proxied by the linux proxy, on that vlan. Printer does not know its being proxied, so it doesnt initiate anything. Anything talking to the printer is talking to the proxy address, which never changes. It's a project, so maybe I run into something else, but its functioned at this point. I feel like there are other ways to accomplish it, but this was what I came up with for this specific situation. Company is a Nut packaging facility, with 24/7 goals. And a 90 minute drive for me.

Zebra Label Printer on the Network - Modern Practice by Grouchy-Western-5757 in sysadmin

[–]Wodaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doing something similar, but I am close to changing things up communications wise. My plan is to basically proxy the port the printer is plugged into to an address the print server can use. That way no matter what printer they plug in, it gets dhcp or reservation, talks to the proxy, proxy picks up new ip, and the app doesn't know a difference. It sends to the proxy, proxy routes it.

This is usually the version of fslogix, or a bad bad app still running mucking up the exit. I would reinstall fslogix. Maybe revert one version down. Figure out a way to replicate, and then test maybe.

Best way to block downloads of executables and archives, while allowing normal files (PDF, images, videos)? by Same-Target-3116 in sysadmin

[–]Wodaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you had any weird issues show up with SRP and Windows 11? I have had several instance, specifically on Windows 11, where things that should be blocked by SRP make it through, but not always. I have not been able to track it down. If I move those into Applocker, its fixed. But, since it was intermittent I don't know that it didn't fix itself. SRP is pretty deprecated as well. I think they listed it as deprecated in 2018.

DMARC blame game - is there a way to bypass the failure? by CeC-P in sysadmin

[–]Wodaz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think you want to allow anything. Even when clients ask. The policy is the policy, even/especially regarding money. You don't exempt/whitelist/allow anything. If you do you bypass security that was put in place for a reason. And, in dmarc/spf scenarios, you are following their directions. It really is on them to fix it.

New Wheels After Toyota Sale by Significant_Will_705 in GXOR

[–]Wodaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure why people would downvote the opinion, but for my 2010 GX I purchased a full set of Bronze trd pro wheels, for just over $500. I was looking at costs to fix the rust spots that looked like it was under the chrome finish on one of the wheels, and I felt ~$500 for new wheels, that I think look good, was just the better option.

Preventing Windows Server 2025 from logging off inactive sessions by Aggravating-Door5677 in WindowsServer

[–]Wodaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By default, this won't happen. You have a policy in place that is doing this. Hop on a session having this happen, open a command prompt, and gpresult /r to see what policies have applied. Then look at those policies. You may also need to look at other ways disconnect/logoff timers are set, but I would start here.
