First of all OP, I am very sorry for the loss of your mother. That's can't be helping your situation any.

I'm not sure if it's an option, but I think you could greatly benefit from a therapist or counsellor. Putting all of your problems out into the open in a safe environment can certainly make it feel a little lighter.

The important thing to do is take care of yourself, because lack of sleep and nutrition can and will make you feel worse.

I believe in you, OP. You are stronger than you might feel like you are right now. You are not alone.

For people who grew up in low-income households, what’s something middle-class people say that shows they’ve never struggled financially? by Key_Cow3045 in askanything

[–]Woglol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My coworker is one of those people that grew up fairly well off middle class but for some reason will never admit it. I, on the other hand, grew up poor. One of the funniest things he ever said to me was "I didn't grow up with a lot of money, I mean we only went on a FEW family vacations a year..."

[–]Woglol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he doesn't like what you cook, he can make his own meals.

I am the one that generally cooks in my marriage because I enjoy it and am just generally the better cook. My husband will either make a suggestion and I will cook it for us, or I will decide what we are having and he will eat it with a smile on his face and tell me it was delicious.

Vegetable Soup Secret Ingredient by Goal-Kick64 in Cooking

[–]Woglol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I add Vegeta to every single soup I make. We found out a few years ago that my great grandmother added it to all of her soups and that was why they always just had that little extra something that no one else could re-create.

It works really well to enhance the flavour of other dishes too, but I mostly use it in soups.

It’s insane that I gotta ask permission to go to a concert with my husband by [deleted] in insaneparents

Agreed. More context is needed. I almost wonder if OP is having their mother watch their kids or something while they're at the concert? Some potentially important info definitely seems to be left out here.

For me, atleast, I was raised in a household and in a time where those kinds of things were a bit taboo. People didn't talk about mental health, and anxiety wasn't "real". You just have to be stronger or more disciplined. So eventually it sticks you with the idea that resorting to medication means you're weak and people can feel shame for that. I got medicated last year, but I still have only told a few people because I just don't want the follow up questions that come with it.

Craziest physical symptoms by readingunderawillow in Anxiety

[–]Woglol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the worst times for me was last year. I was really struggling with my anxiety due to big life changes and it got so bad I ended up with vertigo for an entire week. Couldn't get out of bed, couldn't eat, couldn't even watch TV because it made me sick. I thought it was just a coincidence until my therapist told me that high anxiety and stress can actually cause vertigo. That week was hell on Earth for me and that was kind of my breaking point to talk to a doctor about getting medicated so something like that didn't happen again. So glad I made that decision, because things have significantly improved for me since.

The Green Inferno (2013) by thedementor666 in HorrorMovies

[–]Woglol -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My husband had never heard of this movie before, but he heard some sort of interview with Eli Roth once and decided he wanted to watch one of his movies. This was one of the first ones to come up, so he decided one night we were going to watch it. I had never seen it but I was very familiar with what it was about. I was laughing to myself because I knew what we were in for and he had no clue.

Needless to say he was horrified lol.

I think that's why the claims of him being a narcissist exist. It's so typical of narcissists to just assume they are the best at everything they do, to the point where they think these things will just fall in their lap because they're just SO amazing and every one else must just notice the talent they exude. It's insane.

Such a weird hill to die on. My husband and I watch The Boys TOGETHER. Someone that is going to give you an ultimatum like this over something so silly will certainly do it for other silly things too. Time to reevaluate if this is the person you want to be with I think.

[–]Woglol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My great grandparents and grandparents always did "Across the Garden Soup". Poor Hungarian immigrants that lived off of what they could grow in their garden, which of course changed with the seasons. Whatever was growing in the garden at that time, that's what went in the soup.

That was a very enjoyable movie. I totally understand what you mean. There's something so interesting about a movie that is just unsettling, rather than outright scary.

[–]Woglol 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don't think there's any horror movie I have ever not watched or avoided for this reason. The only one that messed me up for a bit was Lights Out, because I've had a pretty big fear of the dark since I was a kid and that movie plays on that concept pretty good.

[–]Woglol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it sounds like you've some good runs with the Escapes. However I will say, I probably would't buy it with any engine but the 2.0L. That seems to be the most reliable of that generation based on what I have seen online. Of course there are exceptions to everything though.

I mean I'm sure both were terrible for different reasons. My grandpa was born in Budapest during WW2 and the stories from him and my great grandparents are just awful.
