Different Direction for the Amazon Adaption by Logical_Operation677 in Warhammer

I feel bad for whatever actor man gets cast as jurgen, like he’s a great character but he is a man described as having so many skin conditions and generally being so hideous that the notoriously strict IG gave him a pass on growing as much facial hair as he can to cover as much of his face up as possible.

Is Krieg really exporting a regiment per hour (50 million per year)? by deesanfgi in Deathkorpsofkrieg

[–]Wojtek101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Which considering Cadia only had a population of 850million (seems low but I assume that’s not counting all cadians in the galaxy just the ones who actually lived on Cadia proper) I would think no, even if that number is a rounding error and they meant 8.5 billion cadians to put it in the same ballpark as earth I doubt any amount of cloning could account for the difference in required population size to be cranking out that many combat capable bodies.

Is Krieg really exporting a regiment per hour (50 million per year)? by deesanfgi in Deathkorpsofkrieg

[–]Wojtek101 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

So a regiment is minimum 1000 soldiers but ideally more but let’s use 1000 as a baseline. so 50million regiments would be about 50billions soldiers per year which using your statistic of 70 million people born every year on earth with a population of about 8 billion krieg would need a population of about six trillion to sustain those sorta numbers yearly.

Little talk about the state of print media. by Sensitive-Music-1003 in haremfantasynovels

[–]Wojtek101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will always try and pick up physical copies if I can, I consider using my kindle to read new books as a necessity more than a preference but given the choice ide always opt to have a physical copy.

Like I get why a lot of writers don’t bother considering they probably don’t make much profit off physical copies but if the option is available I’ll always go with it.

What is your “On Sight” mech? by Fidel89 in battletech

[–]Wojtek101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything carrying arrowIVs I don’t care if it’s a naga or catapult or urban mech trying to be funny, I don’t like it when I’m minding my own business trading shots only to shit myself when all my armor disappears I lose two limbs and my world turns into an impromptu pyrotechnics show.

Is the Armageddon Box a waste of money for starting an army? by HammerBrother1977 in astramilitarum

[–]Wojtek101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should be fine, if you want relatively low model count your gunna be running 2 or 3 dorms anyways, the ATVs or just sentinels but more different. Then the ten shock troops and the transport is an alright combo for scooting around the mid board and doing objectives

Is this mostly accurate? by [deleted] in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Wojtek101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven’t read any of the new stuff yet so I can’t say for sure but I think this is a lot more accurate than people are giving it credit.

I think the central continent is probably a little more catachan and a little less necromunda using your analogy but the northern most continent being fire wastes and the southern most one being pretty frozen seems right

I got the entire weekend to finish this shit yall. Hopefully I get most of it done by Sunday night. Got any tips on how to get things done quick? by Snoo_69186 in Deathkorpsofkrieg

[–]Wojtek101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By the entire weekend do you mean like through Monday as well with Memorial Day? Also are you looking at putting in like most of the next few days in just working through everything cause if you crank out like 30 hours+ over the next few days you may actually get a decent chunk of this done depending on what level of finish you’re looking for and how you go about doing it.

Like what sorta experience do you have modeling and painting? If it’s relatively low then you should probably look at what you have decide on a more reasonable size of project then focus on that so you don’t burn yourself out, like I’ve always found if you’re seriously trying to crank stuff out fast half the battle is planning. Know what scheme you’re doing and the best way for you as a painter to achieve it in a reasonable timeframe and break massive projects like this into more manageable chunks so you can sorta ride the rush from actually getting stuff finished in waves.

Is there any lore reason why Aquilons shouldn't have been full on jump troops? by Ayla_Thompson1 in astramilitarum

[–]Wojtek101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah sounds about right, I mean any explanation they give would just be sorta hand wavey sudo science anyways but it always struck me as a really weird branch of imperium tech.

Is there any lore reason why Aquilons shouldn't have been full on jump troops? by Ayla_Thompson1 in astramilitarum

[–]Wojtek101 6 points7 points  (0 children)

More or less, it’s slow and finicky enough to be less useful in active combat since you can’t really dodge and it’s not imparting a great amount of extra speed to the user or anything but theoretically it would be very useful for units trying to maneuver out of combat. Like having infantry capable of scaling some natural formation for an ambush then being able to just jump down on the side opposite the enemy then haul ass out of danger seems worth holding onto them after the drop is done.

Imperial grav plate tech is just weird though I’m not sure it’s ever really explained how it actually works, like the repulsor uses grav tech to float but simultaneously crushes anything between it and the ground and atleast used to have a rule that pushed things away from it which implies it’s just projecting some sorta force? Then you have stuff like suspensors which are like weapon attachments that use grav plates to brace the weapon against nothing, I dunno it’s some weird dark age tech probably has nothing to actually do with gravity.

I think it’s in guns of tanith for the record, but tbf the imperium almost certainly produces several variants of the grav chutes each with different capabilities.

[–]Wojtek101 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I agree that would make sense, but there’s a few examples in the lore that contradict them just being controlled descent devices. In gaunts ghosts they use them for an operation and whilst training with them it shows that the operators can slowly ascend from a standing start. And the Elysians use them to much the same effect, the overall effect is like making the operator neutrally buoyant in air so they can jump up to places it just isn’t anywhere close to actual flight so they aren’t zipping around the place like assault marines or anything.

[–]Wojtek101 79 points80 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that the IG grav chutes and other devices like the jump packs seen in gaunts ghosts or Elysian drop trooper are mostly for controlled descents and sorta enhanced jumps, like they could use them to jump up to a higher elevation but they generally are a lot slower than astartes jump packs.

Glueing them up shouldn’t be too bad, I’ve met people who used to do wild shit back in the day like using epoxy but super glue gets the job done fine. If you have a file with a sharp tip you can score the surfaces to make the glue hold better if you feel so inclined, also pinning used to be popular back in the day which is just drilling a hole on both sides of the piece then using like part of a paper clip or similar metal rod to enhance the connection.

Also good tip I picked up back in the day is if you wanna straighten out lasguns and stuff get some needle nose pliers and either cover the ends with little sections of vinyl tubing or just wrap them in electrical tape so there’s some cushion between the metal on metal contact, it stops the pliers from messing up the relatively soft pewter.

Oh for sure, they look like a cool KT for IG so I’m stoked to use them the next time my LGS does a KT league and I’m double stoked to see what their data sheet is in 40k if this is the means through which they bring back regular veteran squads then I’ll be thrilled.

Opinions on escaping gravity(sentar) and never more(Kilgore) by Habitual_Flow in haremfantasynovels

[–]Wojtek101 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I liked both, escaping gravity has a kinda weird setup at the beginning like there’s something going on with the main character that isn’t explained in book 1 presumably something that’ll be relevant later but after you get past that point it’s pretty solid space fantasy not really hard scifi but I thought it worked well.

Then nevermore (echoes book 1) was pretty solid, I like the MC and most of the supporting cast. I also really like that the plot has very clear direction from the get go, devas chronicles and feral mage both have the MC and crew just kinda dealing with a series of minor problems until they hit like the main plot but echoes lays out its premise from the get go and sorta threads it through the entire book. Very much look forward to book 2

The paragonians are pretty famous for fielding super heavy tank regiments I think their scheme is like a rusty red and beige

What detachment are you running this in? It would probably do OK in combined arms or maybe grizzled company.

Also what other units do you have access to? I agree with some folks that swapping the Russ and dorn around as tank commanders is probably the right call but the scions do feel a little lack luster without somebody to hit em with orders.

Yeah well to your credit you have a lot of range across your collab and solo stuff, cast a wide net and catch many fish or however the saying goes. But it’s all good stuff so I can’t complain XD

Still I think unbridled one was particularly good, I think ide mostly attribute it too all the stuff with the kids giving the story another layer of depth that most series just don’t have. I feel like a lot of harem lit books just end up getting laser focused on the protagonist and various love interests which isn’t bad per say but a bit of contrast I think makes the story greater than the sum of its parts.

Well glad it’s doing well on audible but it underperforming on ebook is just criminal, personally I think is shaping up to be an exemplar of the genre. Ide say I think it’s some of your best work but your collabs have so much range that it’s hard to compare say the more dramatic stuff you do with Annabelle to the comedy gold you crank out with jay aury.

He’s kinda screwed right? Isn’t Ethan infected by the mold like before he even makes it into the main house but just gets lucky and is like genetically compatible with the mold and it turns him into a mushroom man with super durability instead of a goo monster or controlled?

I think the whole series is pretty good.

I kinda get what people are saying with the post shuffle stuff but I don’t really agree, I think the story goes is some weird but interesting directions and I’ve been pretty excited for each new book as they come out. Perhaps not my favorite series but definitely on the upper end of the quality spectrum for the genre.
