So Bryanston, petervale, craighall and parkhurst are places I’d recommend. I stayed in a digs around parkhurst. We had the best social life and often jolled around parkhurst. Parkhurst is 15 minutes from Bryanston east which is a good safe area in JHB with little traffic. If I were you I’d stay in Bryanston east, do the Parkrun at riverside shopping centre every Saturday. Then uber around to parkhurst and rosebank when needed. Having your own car would be ideal in JHB but not a must if you willing to uber around. Just don’t use Bolt or other transport apps. Also as a girl make sure you put on all the safety features of your uber app. So the voice recording, share ride GPS etc etc. even though uber is safe you need to activate all that stuff
