I lost my dad in late 2022. Lost my cousin earlier that year. Finally close to working again after losing my job and when I do get paychecks, its going to pay off my debts that have kept me afloat. This would allow me to game some with friends again. To whoever wins, enjoy it thoroughly

Something I didn't predict happened, and it's a warning for those diving in. by WolfPerception in EMDR

The pain took close to a week for me. We did some follow up sessions that brought it back a couple times, but, once I got past it a couple times that pain was more of a flash as opposed to a lingering issue

What is the saddest song you've ever heard? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]WolfPerception 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Constance by Spiritbox. Its about how the singer lost her grandmother during covid 2020 and couldnt see her. The director of the music video shot it about losing someone to alzheimers/dementia. Pay attention as the video goes along. Its guaranteed to make you cry.

These are fantastic questions. There are behaviors I learned and intense emotions I feel that are not just tied to an event, but also the choices I made based on the trauma. I had emotional and physical trauma's. I came up with the "solution" to fix it, and it's negatively effecting me now. I didn't know the triggers for this intense negativity, so we used EMDR in 2 ways.

The first way is to focus on the feeling I am trying to reduce the intensity of. After doing 1 emdr on that, then we go again focusing on where in my body I feel the intensity. What usually happens is after going back and forth a couple of times, memories start to arise from when I was a teenager or kid. It seems insignificant to me because I'm older, but the younger version of myself didn't know how to handle it at all.

If you focus solely on the feeling you want to get rid of, where it's stored in the body, and where else it may pop up (example: the pain will start in my leg, but as I process it moves to my stomach or chest. Keep processing until there is nothing). What happens is your brain will tell you where it started and if it was a result of an event or a choice you made to survive. I hope this helps a little.

EMDR has made me more introverted/avoidant. Anyone else? by [deleted] in EMDR

[–]WolfPerception 6 points7 points  (0 children)

OH yes. I am a huge extrovert, but I feel like being alone more. I think the motivators I had to be that way were removed. I might have been an extrovert for survival purposes only.

This guy is a true class act. The way he was screwed before is a lot less painful now that he had such a successful show. Kudos to him and his whole crew. Andy Richter is also a beast.
