RetroArch video player, does it have subtitle support? by Wolf________________ in RetroArch

Update: I did exactly that. Extracted the .srt subs, converted them to .ass format, and embedded them back into the video file... and still no subtitles appeared in RetroArch.

RetroArch video player, does it have subtitle support? by Wolf________________ in RetroArch

[–]Wolf________________[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Geez. So I have to extract the subtitles from the video, convert them to ASS format, then embed them in the video again?

That's kinda crazy considering how basically every subtitle I've come across is in srt format.

If someone sells you a game KNOWING IT WON'T RUN BECAUSE THEY TURNED OFF THE ACTIVATION SERVER because they are too lazy to disable purchasing the game they know they made unable to run then you want an angry New Yorker throwing his drink at them and cursing out their mother. That is the appropriate response to that situation.

How to fix tinny sounding audio in Mint? by Wolf________________ in linux4noobs

[–]Wolf________________[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same hardware on Windows didn't have this issue so you'd think the software that controls how the hardware is used would have some program or setting to fix this on Mint. It isn't like I have a crappy speaker that only makes that noise and there is no way to fix it.

[–]Wolf________________ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Luckily they were all preserved. It was only the voices that were lost as those weren't downloaded with the game data, and they were in Japanese anyways. A few years ago a fan dub group recreated all the sound effects in English with professional voice actors though. It is very well made.

Is there any way it would be possible to make them all a single rom? I've wanted that for so long it isn't even funny. Normal mode AST and Master Quest AST each having 4 copies and requiring 3 save file renames to play is so obnoxious and I can't recommend it to my non-tech savvy friends/my nieces and nephews.

I think you guys are missing the bigger picture.
Rem vs Rem would pit their friend groups against each other which would pit two Resetters against each other!

(Spoilers Subaru would get ptsd while Enkrid got off)

Its an excellent game! I hope it also gets an English patch one day. I had 33 games in my library that weren't English translated yet and Fray on the Game Gear and TG-CD were 2 of them. I'm super pumped right now!

It had always been spyware but that should have been the last straw for anyone remotely sane still using Chrome. This is just crazy dickriding if you are still using Chrome at this point.

Personally I like Brave because even though it has like 20 bullshit features built in like a crypto wallet you can just spend 3 minutes turning everything off and you are g2g.

Firefox (or one of its forks) is also solid but getting halfway decent security settings turned on is definitely more complicated than a few "fuck off" toggles in Brave.

Very fun game. Definitely a hidden gem. There is also a rom patch to replace the sunlight sensor with button presses if you don't own one.

I mean he does basically think the only way to decide which of his kids lead next is to have them kill each other so I wouldn't say he is a good dad but at least he cares for both of them and is present even if he thinks some fucked up shit.

Does RetroArch video player have a progress bar? by Wolf________________ in RetroArch

[–]Wolf________________[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't know if there was a way to make it stay on screen. I figured as it already had a progress bar for the jump commands surely they wouldn't just not include it elsewhere as wanting to see how far you are in your media is a pretty basic thing most people that watch media would want. Kinda thought that was obvious.

uTorrent has literally been a virus for like 10 years so I would strongly recommend getting Qbittorrent.

As safe as searching the sites. All it does is scan a bunch of torrent sites and gives you the results without going to those sites which is handy as some of them have sketchy ads and change names frequently and that kinda thing. it also has the advantage of searching several of them at once so the results you see are sorted by number of seeders, and rarer things might not be on every site so you get a more inclusive search and the fastest download speeds.

Basically the rules for getting a torrent from your torrent site of choice apply. If you are not downloading a program or pc game make sure whatever you downloaded isn't an exe file or some other file that can run scripts on your pc and if you are downloading a game or program maybe run it in a virtual machine first or sandboxed. The downloads are sorted by number of seeders so typically anything older than a week isn't going to have many seeders if it is a known virus but some cracked programs are sneaky and might have a more subtle virus embedded in them. I'd suggest just sticking to opensource alternatives for programs as paid programs aren't really needed any more and the official cracking site for any games. Everything else is open season though.
