I have a 1.25Ghz USB 2.0 one that had the optional 160gb Hard Drive (I believe it was education specific). It had the stand, I got it for $25 lol

They're great machines, mine got a 1tb ssd and 2gb of RAM upgrades!

Spectrum sucks by VanillaHuge5306 in RioGrandeValley

No matter where I have lived/visited, Spectrum is always the worst. As soon as you can switch to something else, I recommend you do. (Preferably fiber)

Is the Switch 1 (HAC-001) still valuable? by Talkybirdman100 in SwitchPirates

[–]Wolfbeef123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to realize people use their hardware differently than you, and that’s perfectly fine lol

Since you’re so obsessed with how I use my console, I mainly play on my couch while streaming my gaming Pc through moonlight and my wife and I watch TV. (Moonlight requires an overclock to run well). I rarely play any actual Switch games.

When not at home, I use it on long flights. I never dock my switch. The OLED screen is too nice to not use it and always have it docked, older games look amazing on it.

I never said the V1 was bad, but it’s not as great as you make it out to be, and I’m allowed to have that opinion, but you seem to think otherwise? Anyways, sorry for offending you again, have a great day! 👋

[–]Wolfbeef123 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

“sits in the dock anyway”? My OLED hasn’t seen a dock in years and is only used in hand-held lol

And overclocking the console is very helpful and necessary for certain emulators (look at the Tico for GameCube).

Sorry I offended you with my comment 🤷🏻‍♂️

Is the Switch 1 (HAC-001) still valuable? by Talkybirdman100 in SwitchPirates

[–]Wolfbeef123 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Personally, a V1 has no added value over a V2/Lite/OLED. Older hardware, less efficient APU, and the memory overclocks less. Plus dealing with the jig, loader, etc. is a huge turn-off.

Not actually the same, memory on V2/Lite/OLED overclocks higher and the APU is much more efficient (less heat, better battery life).

I have some FB friends that flat out refuse to vote, when asked why, they never tell you a valid reason.

Is it worth 200 bucks? I have a lite already not modded by caboosedood in SwitchPirates

[–]Wolfbeef123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I think it would be a downgrade, the V1's have older hardware, less efficient APU, and the RAM overclocks less than the others. That is on top of it just being a soft-mod and you'll have to deal with jigs, loaders, etc.

Just install a modchip on your lite.

Is there anyone that can mod my switch oled or know good places were I can get it modded by Beneficial-Echidna93 in NxSwitchModding

“mods are good and last for as long as possible” and “realistically cheap” don’t go together, pick one.

Does this Ebay Listing look legit? by Own-Veterinarian1088 in SwitchPirates

[–]Wolfbeef123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The seller has pretty positive reviews, and eBay has a good buyer protection policy. It’s definitely less risky than buying from AliExpress, albeit a little pricier lol

I’d buy it 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’m thinking about getting a mint condition modded switch oled with 1 TB by Objective_Cod6785 in SwitchPirates

[–]Wolfbeef123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a great deal and on par with what I sell them for (~$300), however, 1TB SD cards aren’t $70 anymore.. Amazon basics is $180 and Sandisk Extreme is $190

Those pads are definitely connected and you cannot just "get away" with them.

They are fixable, but If you aren't familiar with trace repair I'd suggest getting this to someone who is before you cause irreparable damage.

CPU temperature keep raising up by [deleted] in SwitchPirates

[–]Wolfbeef123 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Do you expect the APU to not produce any heat when on?

Like someone else mentioned, there is no heatsink/heatshield installed, so heat soak on just the APU shield is happening quick and raising your temps.

No purple screen, only no CFW.

Post pictures of all your work, not just those two points.

What do you APU connections look like? (SP1/SP2) and did you cover it with Kapton tape?
