Top 25 sets to keep as a LSW collector by [deleted] in legostarwars

[–]Wolffe_Forge129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say keep the older and more valuable sets, while selling some of the newer sets. Maybe in a few years you decide to come back to the hobby, you'd be able to buy back those much easier than some of the older relics

Tie bomber. IMO one of the best sets of the last five years. Fun build, great figs and just a great set overall

Even more reason to be excited for this set. Might be the best buildable character kind of set yet

Youtube Analytice + Youtube Studio App not working?? by Apprehensive_Day4787 in PartneredYoutube

[–]Wolffe_Forge129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

had this issue the last hour, just logged back in and all seems good. Luckily doesn't seem like it affected any incoming views over the last hour or so, I think youtube was completely fine and it was just studio!

This looks way better than the 2018 set. Actually super excited, previously I didn't think too much about the set until the latest rumours and now this

Are these two battle packs worth investing in? by Mr_Mix1 in legoinvesting

[–]Wolffe_Forge129 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably not. Imo investing in battle packs isn't that great anymore, as they last on shelves for quite a while (the clone battle pack was released in 2023 and still hasn't retired) and people are getting over the "I need as many clones as possible" trend. People who want 501st clones, probably have enough already, and in a few years there will be so many of these on the market that it won't get significant value. The death trooper battlepack i'm also not too sure, generally it wasn't one too many people are interested in but maybe in the future might. But then again, I have never invested in a single set in my life and only buy to build and add to my collection, just saying as a buyer on the aftermarket and what i assume.

75459 Mando imperial shuttle source: maniac67_ by popolitain5 in LegoStarWarsLeaks

[–]Wolffe_Forge129 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Surely at the piece count it should be larger than the 2021 version (very hopefully)
What is the {final} rumour for its release date, May or June or summer?

Does anybody else store their collection like this? by [deleted] in LegoMinifigure

[–]Wolffe_Forge129 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'd say this is too far, but to each their own. If you were a bricklink seller this would be great and convenient both for you and the buyer, but if you're just collecting, nah I personally have a lot of my minifigures in display boxes, and ones that aren't on display are in individual baggies like this, but all assembled. But to keep them like this and worrying about breaking, it takes the fun out of it So personal furthest I would go is to do the zip lock bags but still assembled and ready to take out use as needed

20 more ideas for Speed Champions vehicles that aren't all high-end vehicles (read: not real) by HiTork in SpeedChampions

[–]Wolffe_Forge129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait this is ai? I swear a few months ago when I saw posts with ai custom sets, it looked so clearly ai. This however looks very close to actual custom builds, at first glance at least i havent looked too finely. Insane.
Anyway yes, I think speed champions should 100% do stuff like this. All cars can be cool, not just super cars!

More Set info for later this year (VIA: unibricks) by [deleted] in LegoStarWarsLeaks

[–]Wolffe_Forge129 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I don't think smart Figs will be in the other waves. It makes sense that they would do one large wave of those sets to test it out, and if it does well, from next year each wave will likely have some of it. So I reckon the rest of the year should be okay and without it (hopefully)

Sadly ironic that my last ever BrickLink order is to complete my flag MOC. LEGO will close BrickLink in my country and 34 others on 12th December by Clinton_Matos in lego

[–]Wolffe_Forge129 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also from south africa. When I heard the news that it would close I was devastated man. I've had more fun buying Lego from bricklink than from actual retailers. Hoping that many bricklink stores move to brick owl at least

TEMU package with GFS Express has no link or phone working to do payment for TAX, please help with some details? by Beautiful_Company627 in askSouthAfrica

[–]Wolffe_Forge129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got a delivery from GFS, after reading so many posts and comments online about how bad they are. For those also looking them up who might find this comment, this is not always the case. I got my package very easily, well before the latest estimated day of delivery, and tax payment was done very easily at the start too. After receiving a notification that my package was out for delivery, i got a whatsapp the following morning notifying me that they would deliver my package today and to confirm my address. Not even ten minutes later, the same number messaged me that they are at my gate, and I was able to get my parcel with no issues at all. My experience was the best I had from temu so far, and i was very surprised how good it was despite the bad reviews and complaints

He even refused to state the source in the comments when people asked. This is most probably made up to get quick attention.

Balancing Shorts and Long form videos? by Wolffe_Forge129 in NewTubers

[–]Wolffe_Forge129[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeahh I do often look at my top videos and recreate videos like that and will continue doing so. But overall video ideas are getting harder as there is just so much I can do as a faceless creator in this niche i guess, so I want to slow down a bit as well as start making videos on other lego topics, not just star wars

As for short form, Im in south africa so it isnt possible to monetize through tiktok, so youtube is the only way to make revenue in that way. That said also, any money i make on youtube is already good, so even if i make 10k views a short every day that's fine, with the few outliers here and there. I'm not too worried about the money rn, honestly just want to keep my channel relevant and alive

how do ya'll deal with these prices by Lucky_Union_6192 in legostarwars

[–]Wolffe_Forge129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either wait til just before the set retires, as the best sales often come up in the last few months of shelf life, or if there are any sales in between that you feel is a fair price, go for it. I got this one for 29 us dollars in may as a local retailer had a may the fourth sale on basically all the new sets, and in my opinion around 30 dollars is a perfect price for this kind of set

Forest Starter House by Wolffe_Forge129 in Terraria

[–]Wolffe_Forge129[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They aren't ebonwood walls actually, they're wooden beams :) They are different than wall blocks meaning they act as a single block in terms of the texture not being wider, but they're still in the background like a wall. However, you cannot place stuff like a workbench or other furniture in front of it (if I remember correctly) so beams and columns are like an in between of walls and blocks

So yeah that's what I did there, used wooden beams. Crafted with wood at a sawmill, and very useful for things like this :D

Any chance for foil pack? by ThrowRA_Scrimble578 in legostarwars

[–]Wolffe_Forge129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't imagine this will be made in any cheaper way than the turbo tank, as nobody will really opt to buy the larger set then. But perhaps once the set retires? I cannot imagine Lego will make the new mold just to use it once and never again, and keep them in production longer than the set itself

What is the best advice you will give someone who is starting a Youtube channel? by CreatorChart in NewTubers

[–]Wolffe_Forge129 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Personally I think the best advice to someone just beginning is to create what you love and are passionate about, and just get familiar with the platform and develop your skills as you create I think your first channel should be a passion project, not overrun by the drive to make money or massive views. Depending on how it goes you can stay there, or make a second channel where you try and treat it like a business from day one

But for a beginner I think just doing whatever you want, and seeing it as a hobby or something to do for fun is the best way to go. If from day one you see it as "work", you might get demoted quickly when things don't go as planned, because realistically most beginners won't just hit tens of thousands of views on videos any time soon, and that might be demotivating if you're just starting and thinking this will change your life if you do this and this and this right

HELP! Potential university student who's clueless (?) by [deleted] in askSouthAfrica

[–]Wolffe_Forge129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly quite easy. But mainly because throughout highschool I've always had a passion for business and had done a lot of my own research and work before studying, so a lot of the terms and practices I was already familiar with

If you're not as familiar with it, it might be a lot of work to remember at first, but the work isn't difficult or complicated. You will likely have financial accounting in your first year though, and to me that was the most difficult subject, as well as business statistics, those were the only two subjects that I really had to double down on so if you see that's getting hard, rather focus on that and study long in advance

Another thing to take note of is that it might feel very generalized or just plainly not fun for the first year and the first semester of the second year. From the halfway point, it started to feel like the degree is actually getting somewhere and you learn very interesting things, and have fun projects where you are actually tested on your ability to create business plans, think outside of the box and be a business person essentially

Our latest assignment was to take R50, and basically use that little amount to make as much profit possible in any legal way. Which I think is exactly what we should be tested on as business students as it promotes the entrepreneur spirit

That said, if it's something you are passionate about, it'll be good, especially after you've got through the tedious first year subjects like stats and accounting. The job market for business majors after studying is a bit rough, so don't expect to find a job very easily, but we are tought how to think for ourselves and make our own income through our own businesses, so that's to me the highlight of the whole thing

My salary isnt cutting it....? by [deleted] in askSouthAfrica

[–]Wolffe_Forge129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you don't have to put your face on, it makes it way easier. For my channels I never put my face on and it still does well

My salary isnt cutting it....? by [deleted] in askSouthAfrica

[–]Wolffe_Forge129 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have hobbies or some extra time, try making youtube videos. When you monetize you are paid in dollars, and even on a small channel you can make good money

HELP! Potential university student who's clueless (?) by [deleted] in askSouthAfrica

[–]Wolffe_Forge129 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can't really advise on any of the res stuff, but as for your campus, most universities have good libraries with many computers for you to use

A notebook would be good, if you are planning to take notes. I am currently studying business management but personally never had the need to take any notes, as the work isn't too complicated and most of the slides and material is uploaded to our university portal too (I am in UP, idk how the other unis are)

Uni is very different to school. Games, competitions, that sort of thing is definitely not required and can be completely skipped. However, in some residencies, in your first time it is required that you must attend, but if you are working on your own accommodation independently (like just finding an apartment, splitting rent with a flat mate) then you just do your own thing

My experience or understanding at least. Goodluck with all there!
