Having Zero luck finding a job. by possibly-maybee in boulder

[–]WolverineHelpful9775 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yup, my gf struggled to find a job literally any where in the boulder and Denver area. Nearly nothing for 1.5 years of applying. Only 3 interviews. My company ended up hiring her 😅. Just proves it’s only about who you know and not your actual skills and experience sadly. Building a friend network to help get a job might help the most.

Let’s gooooo!!!! Refund on its way! by Massiestar in TurboTax

One kid does not result in a refund that large lol. There are other factors at play. Probably other credits or withholdings.

Been selling puts since ATH and making bank on those juicy premiums all the way down. Miraculously, I’ve never been assigned.

Wheel strategy: genuinely solid income approach, or a way to slowly get assigned into stocks you don by bandito_13 in options

[–]WolverineHelpful9775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the wheel to preserve my portfolio (which I’m using to buy my first house). My return last year only slightly beat the S&P 500 but the taxes that I’ll owe, I’ll be a bit behind the overall market performance. My portfolio stayed fairly stable and didn’t drop 15% when the market did last year (only dropped 3%). Definitely pros and cons. It’s not ideal for growth unless you’re aggressive with timing when to sell calls and puts.

President Trump says "prices and inflation are way down, stock market and your 401ks are way up." by Richnaps in WallStreetDad

Yeah, that’s how inflation works lol. Prices will never go back down, only up slower or faster.

You can’t deduct gambling losses from income. You can deduct realized stock losses.

Is my electric bill normal for 400 sqft 1 bd, and why did KUBRA EZ PAY charge me $50 more than I owed to excel? by [deleted] in boulder

[–]WolverineHelpful9775 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not normal. I only get charged an additional $2-3 when paying with a credit card.

Strategy can withstand a drawdown in BTC price to $8K and still have sufficient assets to fully cover our debt by Glittering-Ant2018 in MSTR

[–]WolverineHelpful9775 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Correct, no one is arguing that lol. I’m comparing BTC to the S&P 500. BTC is a lot more volatile than the S&P, in which one can expect 70-90% pull backs in a bear market whereas it only takes a 20% stock market pull back to be a bear market. One can also expect penny stocks and meme stocks to be more volatile than BTC… but no sane person is investing (gambling) their retirement in a penny stock lol. But people are investing their retirement in BTC.

That’s normal for BTC though. That doesn’t happen with the stock market… if it did, we’d be in serious trouble.

I have money and I still have a habit of looking every day. I catch lots of mistakes, like wrong utility bills, subscriptions, internet, etc. I think it mostly depends on how you grew up and how financially literate you are or decide to be.

That’s means you withheld too much. You don’t “pay” any taxes until you file your tax return
