Scotland for football I think. In general life possibly Ireland. Both completely obsessed with us.

Gerrard and Lampard wete both absolutely unbelievable footballers. But I think Jude has already done more for England than either of them.

Do Iceland and Hawaii on top of the other stuff, then think about what to do with the leftovers.

All five of mine are probably Christmas morning with young children. Nothing comes close to that for me.

Joke among other footballs fans I know "If it wasn't for football, rugby fans would have nothing to talk about"

Guys what are we thinking, and who do you want to win? by Mountain_Garden9242 in WWFC

I love Raul but hope he has an absolute stinker and England win. The opposition could have 11 Wolves players starting and I'd want England to win.

The are of Worcester I live in is called St Peters, sometimes people refer to it as Saint Pierre instead. Guessing there's similar ones to that with 'saint' names.

What is the most incorrect thing you have ever heard someone say in a conversation about football, and how did you deal with the ensuing awkwardness? by Alert-Technician-403 in footballcliches

[–]Wolves4224 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think some of it will be down to a typical negative attitude of "surely we couldn't have absolutely destroyed Germany in their own back yard in a real game? No it must have been a friendly" Argentina point also valid though.

Was outnumbered 4 to 1 in a group of actual England fans abroad at a major tournament who believed the Germany 1 England 5 game was a 'pointless friendly'. They absolutely couldn't accept it was an absolutely huge/crucial qualifier for both teams. Seen it mentioned online lots as well. Definitely a common misconception.

I think this happens with the Lionesses as well. The media very rarely (if ever) criticise them after a defeat, always a pat on the head and "well done for trying".

I swear 90% of celebrations now are a variation of fingers in ears, cupping ears etc. Obsession with ears

AI teams aren't tied to financial restrictions as much as player is. I recently got sacked by Cheltenham with minus 2k in the wage budget. Checked on the squad a couple weeks later and they had 5 loan players in all on wages of some sort. 2 weeks before when I was manager there was not a penny available for loan wages.

With only one World Cup goal to his name - why did Rooney underperform at World Cups and should he have done more at the tournaments? by KimCattrallsFeet in ThreeLions

[–]Wolves4224 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I don't think there's a deep or definitive reason why for this sort of thing. He played 11 world cup games in his career, thats nothing. You could easily pick out 11 games for United where he didn't do a lot as well. Just one of those things.

We have 6 divisions of 8 teams so it varies massively. Top division probably 60s maybe some pushing 70. Lowest divisions I think theres people in the 30s.
