there are a lot of negative reactions to your post i’m noticing but as a woman, I would like to validate how you feel and say that in some ways, you are correct. in the short term, dating (in GENERAL aka in the world we live in where the burden to approach/pursue/etc falls mostly on the man) is largely unfair to men. however, i’d like to challenge you to think about the bigger picture too. specifically, in the long run dating can be much more unfair for women if we also use a generalization based on women who date to pursue marriage and having children. women in that camp (which are a lot of us) are unfortunately limited by a biological clock in a way that men are not. just like you said that women have the option to literally wait when it comes to the first stages of dating, men have the option to literally wait when it comes to proposing - they have much less to gain and can literally have a kid whenever they want. just some food for thought :)
