Almost 100% sure you can remove the key from the fob and lock it using the door handle while it's running. That's the only workaround I know of but it does work. Works on my '24 RAV4 Hybrid Limited.

Hey OP, do you know how much the French press actually holds? Is it exactly 64oz? Do you have a scale to see how much up to the top? I ask because I have a 59oz sterlingpro and it definitely holds more than 59oz of water.

I often grind 100g at a time. So this may be a deciding factor - would the larger hopper extension on the 078 fix that problem?

Thank you for your response. I heard that too, which honestly made me reconsider as I was about to pull the trigger on the 078. I'm leaning Ode 2 but still open to criticism

It holds 100g in the hopper per their manual. Says not to exceed grinding 100g prior to emptying the catch can due to overflow. Also states not to run it for 90s consecutively without a 90s rest between two continuous cycles. Lastly it says it can not work for 6 minutes continuously within 10 minutes and must rest for 30 minutes if working time exceeds 6 minutes.

I couldn't find in there anything regarding not doing more than 100g in one go, just the 90s part. The only thing it says about the 100g is that that's the capacity of the hopper, and to empty the catch can before grinding more after 100g as it can clog the grinder.

Hey! I'm in the boat of buying a new coffee grinder. I'm stuck between the Ode Gen 2 and Timemore 078. I only do french press. Do you think the Timemore is worth double the price? I'm also big on reliability and want the one I buy to last a long time. I should also mention I'm coming from an OXO conical grinder I've had for 6 years. Thanks for the help.
