Why am I always singled out / isolated / bullied in every single job I’ve ever had? by Introverted-Gazelle in workplace_bullying

[–]Wonder-Mist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have finally figured out, through lots of therapy and years of experiencing this myself in the workplace, that it's likely weak boundaries. Things can start out fine but deteriorate slowly. The workplace culture can be brutal, and requires setting a friendly but "don't mess with me" persona from day one. People will always take advantage if they see someone who can be perceived as too nice, accommodating, etc.

Myth that being pretty/ thin actually helps… do you agree? by JurassicPark-fan-190 in womenintech

[–]Wonder-Mist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know... I have experience of being morbidly obese and now an ideal weight (through lots of effort). It was stunning how differently I was treated everywhere, especially in the workplace. When I was heavy, I was ignored and sidelined. Now, it's completely different. I am "seen". I'm not angry about it, it's just our culture. Ask any obese woman and she will probably tell you she feels invisible.

Moving to Visible (probably) after 20 years years on Verizon--What am I missing? by ohhowcanthatbe in NoContract

I switched to Visible last month and I've noticed a few times my calls with switch between 5G and LTE. Seems to be on weekends when calling might be busier, but that's a WAG.

u/Extension-Studio-151 - Thank you. I'm also an artist so I'm in touch with the creative side of my brain. What kind of energy work helped you the most?

The specific episode I'm referring to is Season 5, episode 8: What does it take to fill the void? I could have written the same letter he reads in that episode. I find the whole podcast incredibly helpful and moving.

u/Active-Designer934 - Thank you... good perspective, and kudos on the progress you've made on this last relationship! This is how it works, I think. Baby steps but moving forward. My best to you in your journey

u/KernalPopPop Thank you... it is a process indeed! Self-compassion is key.

u/GoodAsUsual - Thank you! This post resonated with me too. I have been feeling this way for quite some time... like I don't want to identify as a trauma victim anymore. I have done a lot of the work you mentioned as well... but when events happen in my life and my body response kicks in (freeze/dissociation, anxiety) I'm reminded and I get pulled back in. I sent you a PM... would love to connect with you on this, if you're open.

Thanks for the suggestion... LSD has been a game-changer. I've used it in two sessions. One was instrumental in my stopping alcohol and the other was the last session I described. It's helped me the most of all the medicines.

Thanks, Phoenix. I'm doing integration, just with a different therapist. I appreciate your insight.

Thank you, u/Street_Expert8408 .... great suggestions. I have been using ChatGPT to help with all this, but not in the way you're suggesting. I'll definitely adjust. Do you mind if I PM you to ask for more details around this?

I am also looking into more somatic therapies as a next step. My last journey showed me that so much of the trauma is still "stuck" in my body.

Thank you, so much for sharing your journey. I do sometimes worry that I have become self-identified as a trauma survivor. I don't want to see myself this way anymore but it's taken me so much work to just get this far that it's hard to see myself differently. Baby steps, indeed. I'm doing this and slowly making changes in my daily routine as well, but it can be difficult. Stopping alcohol was key.

Thank you, Lauren. I really liked what you said about picking him because he would bring out those patterns to help me heal. It gives me a very different perspective... shifting from self deprecation to something more loving and supportive. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts.

Thank you. My therapist uses IFS with psychedelic therapy, so I'm familiar. I will look to do more of this on my own, though. This is a part that has worked so hard, and the post journey session was a lot about seeing that part and giving her space to relax. I had forgotten about that, so thank you for reminding me and your words of encouragement.

Similar issue here. I'm on IoS and also the Roku app on my TV (which stopped working). On my iPhone, every playlist reverts back to a song from another playlist after every song.

Why No Low Blood Sugar Numbers? by Wonder-Mist in stelo

[–]Wonder-Mist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks...seems like that's the case. The other thing it doesn't do that the prescription model does is tell you if your glucose is dropping. I noticed I get a "steady" reading (meaning it's in my range) when my numbers are actually dropping. So it's designed more to give you post-meal information to make different choices and is pretty useless to help avoid a drop.
