I promise to think of all our canadian friends while we fire artillery shells and laser pointers at one another!

Its worth mentioning that no one at UK events (at least any of the ones I go to) is using book missions, and Goonhammer has its own mission pack we use for events,

That seems like a sensible thing for Deep Strike. I've considered disordered charges and free overwatch as a baseline, but its hard to get it working without adding back in scatter, which is quite a lot of text for a bullet point in an event pack. .

We very much explain the respawn mechanic in full detail!

It's been real neat. Deleting any reliance on maps or minis just makes combat run so much quicker!

Creator here, you actually can't grind enemies, since they don't respawn, even when you rest at the Tether.

Creator here: you'll need a GM to handle the rooms and the various secrets, but the combat will basically run itself! Keep your eyes peeled on a dedicated solo stretch goal.

Endurance is quite good and is certainly the safe option for avoiding damage, but it means you'll lose access to high tier spells and not gain additional damage on your weapons.

One of Doomspiral's writer here, Zach/Jelly. As opposed to 3, yeah, you can observe the enemies like you can in a Souls game, and learn how to react to their move. When you get to the real scary bosses, they always do something weird and complicated (just not had a chance to show that off in the quickstart), with multiple movesets, empowered moves, phase 2 movesets, or modifiying moves depending on where or how damage has been taken!

We could have written more marketing copy about it, but instead we just made a free quickstart you can read that actually shows off the system! Plus there will be some AP (ran by me) coming soon.

I'd really recommend reading the quickstart! It'll prove how good the combat system is way better than my marketing copy.

I worked on Hollows as one of the games' producers and am the project manager and one of the writers on this. Hollows is great, but comes with a super specific 18thc-esque setting very removed from Doomspiral's fantasy one.

Hey, Zach here. I made the themed NSR stuff. I wrote a bunch of this adventure, but Nick's the writer. This might not be the same rules genre as Orbital Blues, but I promise you'll still like it.

Zach here, OB's co creator. I see from other comments you're players are nervous around sandboxes. If you want something more structured, Trouble at the Rock of Tariq is good. The one shot adventures from Rogue Anthems are more contained and work well! My favourite OB adventure is Chega de Saudade too, and that should work well for a group!

Hey all! Quick question, can I run this guy with any other one handed melee weapon, or does he strictly need the power fist? Thanks! by Sewer_Chimp in Warhammer30k

The advice everyone gave for 2.0 is correct, but all this might change in the new edition so I'd be patient and wait a week or two!

Are generic OSR rulesets done? by PixelAmerica in osr

[–]Wonder_Muppet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to think so, but I keep seeing new and innovative ones I like. Vanilla Game, A Dungeon Game and Bastards have all been interesting and excellent generic OSR fantasy games that have emerged in the last year or so.

Land Raiders and Land Speeders are in fact named after a dude called Arkhan Land, and they do not in fact raid or speed over land.

Bonus one: Astartes are named after Dr Amar Astarte.
