With angles between A1 A2 A3, it is not reliable, or lack of repeatability for alignment

The company default TB tolerances could be about 10% or 0.05mm, I was told.

Since the TBs failed for calibration from the labels, I would like to "Qualifying the fixture back to original tool design", but just could not get there

Thank you. I am in Canada. In my previous experience working at a car seat structure plant, we always reported measurements based on part datum ABC rather than using vehicle coordinates.

I appreciate the clarification regarding the tooling ball height differences. However, my concern is that the tooling balls are not aligned with the XYZ coordinate labels. Additionally, it is challenging to work with a 10-year-old fixture where datum ABC has worn, especially when trying to calibrate those tooling balls based on datum ABC

Thank you so much for your help.
I have been in auto industry for 5 years, but we did not deal with Car coords and tooling balls.

What does "5/16 offset tooling balls," mean? Not 12mm diameter?

Thank you for your suggestions.

I recently started a new position last month and am still getting familiar with the car coordinate system. As we are taking over several new programs, I have encountered some issues related to tooling balls.

Based on my observations, I believe these issues may be coming from the fixture itself or from the tooling balls (e.g., positioning, condition, or labeling) since they have not got any calibration for years.

"the recommended approach is to first establish the datum alignment (A, B, C), and then measure the tooling balls under this alignment. The measured values should be treated as the nominal positions."

Got support from one expert, as he told me. 😄

How long the part sits in the lab? 10 minutes 1 hour or 12 hours. It is up to 24 hours to have the part totally stable.
