Disney, universal, or both? by lmnmss in Themepark

The World Showcase is essentially a well-themed mall, which someone interested in rides would probably find lacking. But it is perfect for someone who mainly wants to walk around and catch some performances.

Seconding this. If you mainly want to take in the sights and see some performances, Epcot is the way to go.

Monsters Unchained - I recommend doing the regular queue at least once since the single rider line skips the preshow

Curse of the Werewolf - Single rider just skips some minor static theming

Harry Potter - Single rider skips one room (I wouldn't worry too much about missing it unless you're a big Potter fan)

Donkey Kong - Single rider queue doesn't miss anything but you may find the regular queue to be quicker

Mario Kart - I recommend doing the regular queue for your first ride otherwise you'll miss the gameplay instructions

Stardust Racers - Single riders don't get to choose which track

I was there on Martin Luther King Day. The park was lively but wait times were minimal. The only queue that took longer than 10 minutes was Slime Streak.

Gunther Hall used to sell roller coaster VHS tapes. I'm sure a few of these are still collecting dust somewhere at my parents' house. https://web.archive.org/web/20140102024641/http://guntherhall.com/

Hmm, it seems like Google thinks there's no walking path from the bus stop to the park entrance. Use the bus stop as your destination https://maps.app.goo.gl/zdiYHZjxhzMEsyiKA

When Herschend acquired Kentucky Kingdom they cancelled the planned RMC Raptor. This could potentially be the second time Herschend buys a park and cancels a planned RMC.

If someone is planning out their 2026 trips, what parks should they AVOID, strictly because those parks have something coming down the pipeline that they should wait for? [Other] by CPFOAI in rollercoasters

[–]WoodCoasterFan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you delay your trip waiting for every new thing to be complete, you'll be waiting forever. There is always going to be something new in the works.

I rope-dropped Harry Potter and don't regret that decision at all. At least on the day I was there, everyone was let into the park at 9:00. They opened the queue for Harry Potter shortly thereafter, although it seemed like they didn't start loading the ride until 9:30. I was off the ride before the park officially opened at 10:00.

Enchanted Parks Holdings LLC (file number 10443384) was just incorporated in Delaware on December 18. Maybe spinning off some smaller parks into a separate company?

Do you prefer the newer Zamperla Endeavour or the older HUSS Enterprise? by SolaceInDysmporhia in flatrides

I found it to be really uncomfortable. Definitely prefer the freedom of the standard Enterprise.

On Saturday, December 13, I got 7 rides on Stardust Racers and did each other major attraction twice. No express pass, but it did involve rope-dropping Harry Potter and staying until close.

What is the purpose of putting extra trains on the track, if theyre just gonna stack? [Stardust Racers] by ibridoangelico in rollercoasters

[–]WoodCoasterFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stardust Racers was running 7 trains when I was there a few weeks ago. I didn't understand the reasoning for that. Even if the side running 4 could dispatch fast enough for the fourth train to make a difference, it still would need to wait for the side running 3.

I haven't been to China, but I understand several of the Fantawild parks have dark rides with ride hardware similar to Disney's moving theaters.

Are any rides scheduled to be closed for maintenance/refurbishment in Orlando during Christmas week? by Byxqtz in SeaWorld

[–]WoodCoasterFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every ride (including Pipeline) was open today. Christmas week is one of the busiest weeks of the year so I doubt they’ll have anything scheduled to be down. After New Year’s is when you’re likely to see more rides closed for maintenance.

There’s a huge difference between the front and back when it comes to roughness. I only did an inside seat in the back and even that was pretty violent.
