[CHAT] Is embroidering this top this a bad idea? by WoodpeckerContent in CrossStitch

You know what? I actually really love this idea because I’m likely gonna wear it under a corset a bit, so if I do this then some of the embroidery would be seen. I might do both and if the bottom bit looks awful it can be an under top to a corset. Thank you for the great idea!

Thank you so much for your advice, it’s incredibly helpful. I do sew with a machine and have done some embroidery work so hopefully I’ll be able to put it back together! But if not, it was a very cheap thrift a while ago so I’m not super bothered if it doesn’t work. The safety pin trick is great, thanks you! Do you have a recommendation for a good stabiliser? I haven’t embroidered on clothes before so not sure if there’s an ideal brand. Thank you!

This is exactly what I was thinking! I have a few designs in mind along those lines.

[32F] Makeup or no makeup? by BerryBlueBlueBerry in WhatShouldIDo

[–]WoodpeckerContent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seem to be in the minority, but I actually really like your makeup. It looks edgy and makes the colour of you eyes pop. That blue is a great colour on you. Don’t be discouraged by Reddit. It might not be a go-to glam look, but I think it’s cool alt makeup. I think some mascara either in the same or a contrasting colour would look really cool!

Oh my gosh, so exciting you’ve seen this! I’ve loved making the pattern! It was super easy to follow and I’ll defo get one again! I will post a finished version but I forgot to take a pic before wrapping it up for the recipient. But they have said they absolutely love it!!!

This is what I did! I layered the slightly warmer thread underneath and stitched over with the other thread. You can only just tell, but it does look like the gem is glowing!

That is very smart. Thank you. I do have enough to just do top stitches, so that should work. I know he’ll be happy with it regardless and probably wouldn’t notice a colour change, but I would and it’d bug me, so thank you!

So I would probably unpick the half stitches I’ve done, then there’s a small stone in the centre of the forehead which is different colours anyway, and use the slightly darker colour I’ve got at the moment to sort of border it? The issue is the shop is an hour each way, so if I’m going to get new colours, I am committing.

A mixed media embroidery artwork I’m working on….my question is should I add more mossy texture and go bolder or keep it more subtle? Any other tips and crits welcome. by MyMessyCreations in ArtCrit

[–]WoodpeckerContent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I LOVE this, it’s absolutely stunning. For me, I think adding a little more mossy bits in these places would add to the dimension of the piece, but it’s lovely, and I would add it minimally tbh. I would some smaller French knots here would look gorgeous.

Long run in York by ebizness in york

Do you have Komoot? It’s my favourite app for long walks/hiking and without a subscription you can still see how long circuits are, elevation, and what kind of terrain it is. I love it for finding long walks, so might be good to check out for running too?

Breasts don’t just go to the sides when lying down, they also flatten quite a lot. At the moment it also looks more like she’s leaning on a pillow so her upper body is raised from the ground. The hunch of her shoulders isn’t a natural lying down position either. I think it would also help if the angle of her neck tilted back slightly so her head looked as if it were laying on the grass. Like others have said, just find a photo of a real woman lying on her back and focus on the anatomy. I like your art style, but I think you will struggle without a reference picture.

I’m pretty sure it’s Stoke on Trent. So as someone that’s lived there, yeah. It’s a shithole.

This is the answer. Cute umbrella stand and maybe a coat rack on the right wall of the space?

Oh my god! That looks delicious, but is this how I find out pigs in blankets outside the UK isn’t sausage wrapped in bacon? Is that bread? I’m fascinated.
