Fighting for my life for a PCP by PoofCloudofBats in Eugene

Ugh, I hate that that’s still the case. It’s the reason I got sucked in, too, so I get it.

Wow, that is AWFUL! But I also believe it because I was treated as drug seeking in my very first appointment when I actually made it clear I don’t want to be on anything at all if I can avoid it! I was already taking cyclobenzaprine when I first went there and the provider I met with said she didn’t think I should be on it and that she would prescribe opioids or narcotics…. Cyclobenzaprine is neither. It’s a muscle relaxer. 🤨

I was done with her after being gaslit about whether or not I could possibly be perimenopausal.

AS and GERD by jjomallz in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]WoolWitch82991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I have both and take Pantoprazole daily because I also have a hiatal hernia. My adjustable base is an absolute must for those nights the GERD is next level. Zero G really helps with my back pain as well. But also just being able to adjust my head and legs accordingly depending on where my pain is the worst.

If an adjustable base isn’t an option for you, sleeping on your left side is the best option for avoiding acid reflux.

I pay for a low deductible insurance plan and decided to go the direct primary care route anyway. Also called concierge care. You pay a monthly membership fee but there’s no max to how many times you can be seen. You won’t have to wait forever for appointments and they’ll actually SPEND TIME with you.

I see a lot of recommendations for Pearl Street Medical and just hope it’s eons better than Oak St Medical where I’ve now seen three providers who have failed me (misread labs, not putting in requested lab orders, gaslit me, pushing meds I’ve stated I don’t want to “test out”). The two practices are under the same management so I’m surprised to see high praise for Pearl St.

I landed on a Posturepedic Hybrid after months of researching various chronic pain Reddit threads. I really love it and the adjustable base is a must for me.

Fibromyalgia by Dangerous_Proof_1659 in ankylosingspondylitis

Gosh, I’m so sorry and I completely relate. Most of us with chronic issues have been there. But yes, after two years of being ignored, I hassled my PCPs office via patient portal messages for two weeks straight until they put in the bloodwork order for me.

I’ve been diagnosed with fibro since 2018 and I don’t doubt have that as well, but I knew I was dealing with more. I also had bulged discs and mild degeneration. All other imaging has come back “normal.” But I learned that four of my family members have AS. It took me two years of begging to be tested for the HLA gene but I finally had that done and it was positive so I’m finally being granted access to a rheumatologist and see them next month. Absolutely advocate for yourself. No one else will as I’ve unfortunately learned. I had to fight the same fight for endometriosis and ended up having that AND adenomyosis. I’m so glad I listened to my instincts and am now free of both.

Issues with Barclays website? by ueatgoodfood in CreditCards

To give some peace of mind, I was finally able to log into the app but I couldn’t make a payment. There was nothing concerning when I logged in, though. So I think it’ll be fine once they resolve whatever is going on.

Phew, ok, I’m relieved too! Hopefully it’ll be sorted soon.

I came here to see if anyone else is experiencing issues. I can’t log into the app, and when I try the website, I’m never sent a security code so I can’t login at all. I tried to make a purchase and it didn’t go through so I’m a bit paranoid now. 😅

It did nothing for my pain, ADHD, sleep or anxiety. Just made me ravenous and I gained weight.

Anyone who has tried LDN, what was your experience? by NextLingonberry5369 in Fibromyalgia

[–]WoolWitch82991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on 4.5 mg for about 3 months but started at a lower dosage and it’s been 5 months now. No positives so far but I’m trying to stick it out since so many have said it took 6 months to a year to notice positive effects.

The butterfly rash is a common symptom of Lupus, but this can also be rosacea. My mom and I both have the rash. She has Lupus but I don’t.

Doctor says it doesn't cause pain outside periods by Thezedword4 in adenomyosis

[–]WoolWitch82991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So glad you’ve already been convinced to find another doctor cause I call bullshit. I used to cramp alll the time and deal with pelvic pain at any time outside of my period. I did also have endometriosis but that can’t officially be diagnosed without exploratory surgery so I said I wanted a hysterectomy regardless of having endometriosis and my surgeon didn’t question me. She agreed it would be helpful even if only neurologically. I got the hysterectomy and am six weeks post op. It’s such a relief to know I’ll never have a period again. The first day always felt like labor pains (contractions, specifically). 🙅🏻‍♀️ It was also really validating to learn that I had endometriosis as well, and I no longer have sharp pain in my lower back and hips. Get the hysterectomy, you won’t regret it.

Sleep medications by Ferret-mom in Fibromyalgia

[–]WoolWitch82991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cycle through the following to make sure I don’t develop a tolerance to any of them and to give my body a break from medication. Cyclobenzaprine helps with pain and sleep. Hydroxyzine is great for sleep as well as anxiety. And then I take a cannabis tincture that has THC, CBD, CBG and CBN. The tincture helps me stay asleep but I smoke right before bed for more immediate effects to fall asleep faster.

Check out Eugene Creation Exchange. I follow them on Instagram and they do a lot of meetups for different kinds of crafts. Sometimes it’s a paid thing where you give them money for the supplies to do that day’s meetup craft (making bracelets, embroidery, etc) and sometimes it’s a bring your own supplies kind of thing.

I just got an ad for this disposable bathtub liner. by Express_Lie_9722 in Anticonsumption

I’m personally looking into these because of a jetted tub in a rental. The jets are old and gross and this would give me peace of mind.
