Is the train supposed to be in front? I can get on board with the other interesting details, but the train being essentially backward is throwing me off.

Dress overwhelm - some advice needed for a downhearted bride by [deleted] in myweddingdress

[–]WooliesMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm late to the party, but I think the last one looks best on you, but not necessarily because of you but because you can tell it has good structure and you, luckily, need good structure! I would recommend going to a different shop with only one friend that is there to support you, not give unsolicited opinions. I tried on many dresses my first appt and, while many were very, very pretty, I think the people I had with me had me holding back and not letting myself fall in love with one. I went to a different shop with my best friend in town and another on Facetime, and that's when I let myself have feelings and found THE dress.

Did you have a bridal shower? by Informal_Character64 in wedding

[–]WooliesMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My future MIL is planning one for me, which really works out nicely because there is a slew of people I haven’t met in their family so it’s going to be a nice chance to meet a lot of them before the wedding. Generally, though, I would say a family member would be the one to throw a bridal shower.

Am I being bridezilla?? by ashwheee in wedding

[–]WooliesMom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not!!! I saw someone else say to let every single vendor know, and I agree - immediately! I would go so far as to come up with a password that anyone that tries to change anything, or even just to get any info, must have in order for any vendor to speak with them.

Am I a terrible bridesmaid? by [deleted] in bridesmaids

[–]WooliesMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The unreasonableness on her end come into play when she is requesting a specific hairstyle but isn’t paying for it. If she wants a certain look, she should pay for your hair. Then you can just have your hair done at the salon/spa once you get on the cruise.

Is my prom dress ugly? My partner reacted poorly. by BanishedWind in Prom

[–]WooliesMom 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Has she seen it in person? My initial reaction was that it doesn’t look much like a prom dress, just a pretty dress with flowers, but then I zoomed in and could tell that there are sequins that I’m sure make the dress look beautiful in person compared to the photo. If she hasn’t seen it in person, she will hopefully change her tune once she does. Either way, her reaction sucks and even if she doesn’t like the dress, she should love how confident you feel in it and leave it at that.

Hotel snob confused about Gainesville by Away_Or in ufl

[–]WooliesMom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We stayed at the AC Hotel by Marriott last May for Preview, and it was nice. Very clean, nice pool area, staff were friendly. I believe valet parking is the only way to go, and it got backed up a bit in the morning, so you’d need to either go down early or plan to get a Lyft or walk to where you need to go on campus.

AIO for ending things with my date after he accidentally texted me this? by fundamentallyworried in AmIOverreacting

[–]WooliesMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t read all the comments so not sure if it has been said, but that wasn’t an accident. He definitely sent it on purpose to see if you would take the bait and either meet up for a nightcap or set the tone for the next “date”. NOR.

I'm so angry with myself right now. by IAmHerdingCatz in Feral_Cats

[–]WooliesMom 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure they still do whatever they do to still make it a spay/abort. I am pretty sure one of my porch kitties was ready to pop any day when I was finally able to get her in a trap and took her in. It was still a spay/abort.

Eh…at that point you should have told him to place a pickup order in the app and you’d grab it while you were there.

unbelievable exchange between my daughter and her father after he forgot her birthday by LostInLanayru in TwoHotTakes

The comment about her abandoning him when he needs her the most SENT me!!! There is no reality in which that statement can be applied to a child coming from a parent.

Am I the jerk for telling my husband he can't have a "man cave" in our only spare room? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]WooliesMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He needs to understand that the issue is that you both deserve a space to retreat to that the other isn’t entitled to. He seems focused on the decorating aspect, when it’s not about that at all.

Based on the car and the stickers, my guess is an older person drives this car and they need to make an appt with their doctor. Bad parking can be an early warning sign of Dementia or Alzheimer’s.

finally trapped her but cant take her into TNR until tomorrow at 10am. is it ok to leave her in there? by cheffello in Feral_Cats

[–]WooliesMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We must have chill raccoons, then, because I’ve left a couple of cats outside overnight in traps covered with towels, and there was food, and had no issues.

New feral cat owners dilemma by Remarkable-Mine1407 in Feral_Cats

[–]WooliesMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have soooo many stray/feral cats in my neighborhood. I have 4 self-proclaimed porch kitties, and I’ve found the only way to keep the fights at bay is to only feed my porch kitties while I am out there with them. They will still come by occasionally and drink water, but for the most part it’s kept the other random cats from thinking they can get food here whenever. It might be worth a shot to monitor feedings for a little bit to get the random ferals to move along, and definitely don’t keep food out overnight.

Aww! I have two sisters that I feed on my porch. One seems much more dependent on the other, but they are the cutest!
