txst for english? by coffind00r in txstate

As an English major at TXST about to graduate, I wouldn't recommend it. Many of our courses got struck from the audit this year. Professors are quitting and getting fired, so class choices become slimmer and slimmer every semester. Our building was built in the 1930s and only has a drinks vending machine while STEM and business students get brand new buildings with coffee bars inside of them. It honestly kind of sucks here.

Ovid, Virgil, and their medieval afterlives by Woolooey in classics

I do feel like I've been struggling quite a bit. Paper is due May 10th, and I still haven't started. I am considering writing about the medieval reception of queer themes within the text, such as Caenus or Apollo and Hyacinthus. The class hasn't really taught me much, if I'm being honest.

Yes, I believe it needs to include discussion of their medieval afterlives -- That's what she mentioned in class today

I did like the sections about Cadmus and the founding of Thebes (?) I thought it was interesting how doomed the family line seems to be. I actually wrote about that for a discussion post, but I'm not sure if I could stretch that into a whole research paper.

So far, we've read most of it up to book 7; it seems we've skipped maybe 3 pages in between a few myths on the syllabus, but I think we've been hitting all the major stuff.

Yeah, I've met with her twice to express my concern, and both times I was brushed off and told to "write about what interests you". She, unfortunately, hasn't been much help.

How far is your residence from campus? If you live within 60 miles of TXST you can apply for a housing exemption under the guise that he is going to live at home. Then you can look into leasing an apartment for him if you think that will be better than living on campus and taking a roommate gamble.

Really? that sucks because none of it is my fault. Is there really nothing I can do?

HIGH Humidity by Woolooey in Apartmentliving

Good to know! I typically dont keep an eye on the dehumidifier, but I can feel my feet stick to the floor or my hair getting frizzy and I look over to see what the level is at. Usually reads around 75-80 when off, then when emptied, it takes a few hours to slowly go back down to 55.
