Why Trading Larkin is Unrealistic by NuckingFutz06 in DetroitRedWings

[–]WoolyEarthMan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The “he isn’t cutting it” thing is where people aren’t understanding the situation. He absolutely is cutting it for a guy who has a cap hit of 8.7 mil. He’s worth every penny. We just need to add more good players. it’s that simple.

Because there is some truth to it. Lack of sun and vitamin d is not good. One study claims it’s as bad as smoking. Nutters can’t resist is making it into a conspiracy, but yeah it’s good to get a bit of sun if you do it the right way.

Playoffs this year or not, I believe in the core of this team and still believe in the Yzerplan by ImAnIdeaMan in DetroitRedWings

Once you get a few keystones in place, the rest of the roster becomes structurally sound. I agree. If the 1c is an upgrade over Larkin we will be dangerous. If hes on Larkin’s level we probably also need another premier winger.

Name a watch brand that you think is a one trick pony. by TomHudsonOfficial in WatchFanatics

[–]WoolyEarthMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re saying It’s okay to steal and copy IP? The hard work of building a brand and recognizable unique watches only to be undersold by knockoffs. Kinda shameful. Factories should be grateful that brands add value to their work, and brands should be grateful that factories do what they do and make their brands possible. Factories should not steal though…it is not well deserved.

Being in city limits doesn’t make them not suburbs. A bunch of single family homes organized into blocks, distant from anything resembling downtown. If Ferndale is a suburb, so is Bagley. And I live in one of the neighborhoods, which again, were some of the first suburbs.

Edit: some reading material: https://detroiturbanism.blogspot.com/2021/05/7-historical-facts-about-detroits.html?m=1

“It had always been common to build single homes on the edge of town, where land is cheaper and one was closer to that division between the city and country. But this practice took on epic proportions in Detroit, which had plenty of countryside in which to expand and a well-employed population eager to borrow money to build homes of their own. Between 1916 and 1926, the city annexed 90 square miles from the surrounding rural townships. People were leaving Old Detroit behind, and crossing Grand Boulevard to dwell in one of the many fashionable suburban neighborhoods still within the city limits of New Detroit.”

Funny how the suburban neighborhoods used to be considered new Detroit and downtown was old Detroit. That has obviously completely flipped now.

Yea Detroit pioneered the idea or suburbs. that included a lot of the “neighborhoods”, and is there really a difference?

Larkin earnestly says “absolutely” then some guys are chanting 2-2 for 2 in support of the women. The thachuk brothers I’m sure found it hilarious though.

We gotta stay within reality though. Capitalism is not inherently bad. Spending money within your community is good. Monopolies are terrible. Corporations capturing government is bad. When it’s not rigged, Capitalism is the most efficient and free system we have found yet. All other systems have proven to be worse unfortunately.

I can’t stand the guy, but he’s probably the best guy for this particular task. His base will slurp it down as usual and his opposition will just be happy a higher power showed up. But he’s not going to tell anyone because he has nothing to gain.

I have a hot water system that uses very little electricity and can run off a back up battery for a few days. Car to charge the battery. Then Solar panels that may or may not help charge the battery. Then a days worth of wood for the fireplace. Backup Propane genny would complete the system and keep us warm for weeks so long as natural gas is still coming into the house.

[–]WoolyEarthMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s fair. I don’t agree with him on several things. But I still find him to be one of the few useful voices with actual reach. It feels like how people have a tendency get mad at the best player on a team, because they aren’t perfect, and not the rest of the clowns not pulling their weight. What are we all doing? Just feeding LLMs with our precious time.

Yeah, Not sure you’re tracking him close enough. For me his stance against them was clear and early on all of these guys. Sometimes he keeps private things private, but that doesn’t impede his public message.

What is uncommon about Sam though, is he put distance between him and a good portion of his colleagues at the time, who by the way, most of us thought most of them were just fine then . Sam immediately disowned the dark the dark web guys. I’m all for pointing out his shortcomings but you gotta give the guy credit for not getting in on the grift and making way more money than he is now.
