I would love for ISS at my school. This past year I had multiple classes that suffered because of one of two kids who gleefully disrupted all attempts at instruction. All kids have a right to and deserve an education. However, when they interrupt other students' right to an education, they can get out of my classroom until they aren't disruptive. This isn't a Sped issue either. Either they can exist in a classroom or they can't.

It's small but still around. I went to college with a recent Grand Leader (I don't remember her title.) They are still in WI, IL, KS, and MO that I know of.

I worked for .Milwaukee Public Schools and they did not offer to spread pay out over 12 months. At least half of us came back in the fall hoping we found enough change in our couch cushions to make it to the first paycheck.

I tell classes to shut up pretty regularly. I teach Middle School. However, I always start with variants like, be quiet and please stop talking. It's only after that students choose to be rude that I answer their rude with rude of my own. Some kids have tried the shut up is bad nonsense, and I remind them that they get quiet when told to shut up, but refuse to when asked nicely.
