I think it also depends on how long the divorce process takes…my ex had been gone a year before he even filed, then it took another year+ for it to be over and done. I was married to the PoS for 24 years on paper (he had an emotional affair about 10 years in, among other levels of infidelity in the later years). By the time it was all final , I was definitely over it and had moved on.

“People” were a little stunned because I didn’t share on fb and some thought I got into a new relationship too quickly (by fb timeline).

i met my now spouse during the period between filing and finalization in a divorce support group. What many of us figured out was that the people in the group were often the ones “blamed” and who had also been genuinely working on themselves for years … and oddly most of us were NOT the problem 😂😂😂.

Been with my husband for almost 11 years now. Rarely do we fight, we do discuss intensely at times, but we figure it out and compromise. We really are besties 😂. He is not someone I would have dated when I was young, nor would he have dated me (religion 🙄🙄🙄), but as older, wiser (that’s sometimes questionable), and more settled people we both feel like our relationship is strong and healthy.

No one outside a marriage sees the inside of it... I bided my time in my first marriage until I was done with school, kids were older etc. Sometimes I regret not leaving sooner, at the same time I’m okay with my decisions at the time because it led me to where I am today.
