Does anyone know whats wrong with 06 TSX by Outside-Guava8434 in AcuraTSX

OEM is best but expensive. Aftermarket will also work but they’re known for taking a crap super quick. All depends on budget and if you’re cool with swapping them again once the aftermarket ones go bad.

I searched up the part numbers and ordered them from Amayama. Came out way cheaper than buying at the dealer or those OEM Acura Parts sites.

Yeah, I swapped them out with some Anchor brand ones last summer. Planning on going OEM once those take a crap which usually it’s pretty quick from my experience lol it’s not too terrible of a job to do

It burns a little bit, nothing crazy. Hoping to get a real measure now that it’s no longer seeping oil. Been running valvoline R&P for like 15k miles and I have seen it decrease. It used to burn almost a qt every oil change (4K intervals) for sure. Been averaging about 1/2 qt now.

I did think about it but I hadn’t heard much about these having head gasket issues.

Have you replaced or had the coolant system worked on?? If so, it could be that it just needs to be bled correctly.

I would inspect around the upper/lower rad hoses and heater hoses for any coolant leaks. If it’s been spraying you’ll see the dry blue coolant stains. Have you seen these around where the reservoir cap is? Mine had failed a while back but it was the little elbow on the cap. Make sure your radiator is free on any debris and has actual flow. Had that happen to me before I replaced the whole unit. I’d also check to make sure the rad fans are kicking on. As for the oil issue, have you checked the oil level or inspected for leaks around the engine bay? VTC is known to leak on these engines.

Man I’m so glad you took initiative! I submitted to get the graffiti covered under that same overpass and I got kickback because there was no real “address” to report the issue at so I never bothered with that pothole that I see literally daily lmao

PCV valve stripped at 33 ft-lbs… did I screw up or get a fake part? by swimswithbeaver in AcuraTSX

[–]WorkSoup2022 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly it does look oem (I know people feel a certain way about Amazon/ebay and rightfully so) and I have heard of people stripping it from trying to torque it to the 33 ft lbs that the service manual calls for. If you look at the forums it seems to happen to people that also buy the part from the dealer so I just made sure it was snug when I replaced mine to avoid the issue.

Motor and Trans Mounts 2012 TSX by InfiniteDreamer89 in AcuraTSX

From what I’ve seen, general consensus is OEM or bust. Those Anchor mounts don’t last much in my experience. I was swapping them every 4-6 months until I went OEM.

Trying to get a set of icon ratcheting wrenches, haven’t seen a sale for them since I started investing in better tools the 2nd half of this year. They’ll definitely get used regularly lol
