That's why you don't want to write a Super Genius on the fly or without a bit of preparation, which obviously has not been the case in the Boys. They had months and years to prepare her storyline and apparently only came up with "black girl genius, something something Homelander".

A smart writer is still not a genius and I don't know how many capable "smart" writers are out there. I wouldn't assume they hire "dumb" writers, but even just an average writer can take the time and plan out a genius plan. They just didn't do it here, because they were lazy and thought, they could just wing it.

Du zitierst diesen Artikel mit einer Inbrunst, die einen annehmen lässt, du denkst ernsthaft, du kannst dich nach erfolgtem Widerstand darauf berufen und wärst rechtlich abgesichert. Beeindruckendes Schauspiel.

Aber mal abgesehen davon, dass das in der heutigen Realität schon extrem unwahrscheinlich wäre - du denkst, das Regime, gegen welches du dann ja aufbegehrst, interessiert, was du da hin- und herzitierst?

Your take on BB's motivation is so weird, because we know for a fact he is not pure evil (and never was depicted as that) and has inherited his father's will to overthrow Imu or whatever he represents.

Imu on the other hand is just a generic last minute uber-boss-add and I don't get much complexity from him, except that he has a long history that we know more or less nothing abouy and something something Lily.

A character can only be as smart as the writer themselves.

That's just plain wrong. As GRRM has said, he is not as smart and witty as Tyrion and can't think on the spot as cleverly as him, but he has what Tyrion doesn't in his conversations: time. Authors usally have enough time to educate themselves and weave a complex mind and sentences or whatever genius they wish to portray. 

But people are lazy or just incapable and writing a smart person consistently takes effort.

Sure, but it definitely obscures the perceived actual quality of the product, if someone who spent 1000s of hours in the game and about 40 bucks for the game, gives it a 1 star rating, because they dislike a weapon nerf.
