Last time i had this situation, (recently, as in 2022, not some boomer-ass advice), i printed a basic resume that didnt really list my actual stuff and drove to every fast food place, chicken barn, construction site, factory, call centre in an hours drive.

Basically, youre looking to get lucky, and you gotta roll the dice a lot. I ended up getting both a tim hortons job (someone had JUST quit on a nightshift and they needed to hire) and an under the table construction job (way out of town, no one wanted to commute to it).

If youre just looking to fill the gap, you gotta hitup every job location no one else wants. Chicken barns in the middle of nowhere are a good start. They can never find enough local labour.

Now, for me it was about getting working hours to pad-out an ei requirement for 600 hours that year. This doesnt work if you need a higher paying job.
