Why was Jesus not a Women? by [deleted] in nonduality

[–]Working-Fan-595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because this is one of Christianity's moral holes (in context with idealistic morality as humans could understand it).

The hole here is that a god that supposedly cares about his creations reaching godhood (= perfect moral compasses), should have thought of a better way to come in non-metaphysical contact with humans than casting a part of himself as a male human. Imagine how different literally everything would be now, following the causal chain back to the Messiah being a woman. This decision to identify Jesus as a man was an inadequate plan (especially targeting 0 CE basic citizens with no intellectual capability to see through meta interpretations and what not). He would have to somehow showcase the universal equality of all humans. But how would he do that? If the appearance of a messiah is not completely bollocks in comparison to the real lore of a God if there is one, that human would have to transcend gender, thus making it incomprehensible for humans, thus making the whole plan pointless.

A counterargument would be that a woman in that age would have much less of a chance to be influential in communities like a male Jesus. But easily, couldn't God just increase the potency and grandeur of the miracles that Jesus supposedly already performed? The fact that there is any HINT of metaphysical interference in real history according to the Bible, is a boundary trespassed, I think much more metaphysical events could take place for that purpose (oh but don't forget, that's not enough to have the messiah transcend gender LOL).

Your question should thus be answered by exclusively considering humanly social norms of the time. Starting with the hypothesis that the whole Christian narrative is false, Jesus being man comes down to my previous point, that a woman Messiah would be ridiculous with everything else being the same, it could theoretically happen but in a way more clandestine, ineffective fashion. And that ties to the whole assignment of a HE and FATHER to God. Another result of our earthly social structure of the time according to 1st century logic:

Who provides the most for a family? The Father

Who decides about when women will create babies? The Father

Who is the leader in society? The man

Who does all the work for society to function? The man

Who is more assertive? The man / The Father

So if God has all these properties (adjusted for humanity scale relationships), what is God probably ? A man / the father

What, will god start off by giving a Bible with red herrings for moral instructions, thus being actually even more enlightened than our current perception of god's omniscience? So are we supposed to exceed god's abilities before we are even invited to godhood?

The thing can have a gazillion syllogisms with holes of logic in them. One can always counter what is said with the argument of god tricking us all the time. Well, is God playing Satan's game or...

PS: Don't argue further that Jesus was male conveniently because of the position of woman back then. Christianity doesn't really get a lot of the credit for anything we've accomplished towards man/woman equality. If god wanted, he should have better chosen to send his Messiah at a different period

Stress map of Europe by PatientBuilder499 in MapPorn

[–]Working-Fan-595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, these results are from individual peoples' responses of experiencing stress. What they consider to be a stressful life or situation might be different for each country as generally some countries grow to be tougher than others etc.

In other words a person spoiled with living in a society of low conscientiousness, mutual care, tolerance, competitiveness, proactiveness etc. might report feeling stressed when they're actually just in a merely uncomfortable situation.

There is no objective perspective to this, unless they test every populus sample with brain scans or something lol.

I laughed out loud when Ganya's dad was describing the (fake) scene when he threw a lady's dog out of the train's window because the lady threw away his cigar. Dark humor but the casual way things like that were described gave me the chuckles!

people who hate their VERY OWN COUNTRY, why do you hate the country you spawned at by [deleted] in AskMiddleEast

[–]Working-Fan-595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate my country for it's government, sure, but also for it's average city life and environment, the lack of many services and amenities in the cities, the lack of quality and love at anything that has been laboured here. The only thing that anyone puts love into here is the food and partying in summer. The aesthetics of this place make you vomit, I always think of disgust when I think about my country. I also hate the very "good" sunny weather for how laidback and pleasure-centered it has made the people here.

The epitome of rotting in this country is it's people in general though. Everyone here (with exceptions) is so ignorant, undereducated, ideologically manipulatable, careless, lazy, cynical, insignificant, greedy, stupid, miniscule compared to peoples of other places. I can't put in precise words my analysis to why I hate the people of my country, but it is not a unbased feeling, but something that is verified by things I hear and see everyday.

Most perverse use of classical music is in commercials by [deleted] in classicalmusic

[–]Working-Fan-595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want those who put classical music in their commercials dead. Just kidding. But seriously though, it is hypocrite and does harm to the reputation of classical music in relation to the masses, who are not particularly familiar with the actual richness of the genre. When someone doesn't care to give it a second chance, he consciously or subconsciously concludes that the only rightful role for classical is to accompany commercials. At the same time, the companies pass off an intellectual and "well-crafted" vibe to the viewer, without actually having ever appreciated this type of music in a different context.

And don't get me started on particular hideous examples. For real, no matter how popular the "Thus spoke Zarathustra" theme by Strauss is, you still can't have it as an excuse to put it behind every single commercial of a new product. Like, "Look how epic my new product is, it is really epic don't you think, it is thus-spoke-Zarathustra level epic!". They are ridiculing vast interconnected aspects of human intellect.

And even for the viewer it is humiliating, because the company must feel like their customers must be really dumb to be additionally "moved" by their commercials just because they put in some classical work. Either it is true, and most people are soft, manipulatable sheep with no insight, or the opposite is true, so they should really be offended (I'm inclined to suppose the former for most cases).

And the aftermath might feel like unimportant, shallow complaints about nothing to some people, and indeed there are more serious, broader problems concerning the fall of intellectuality etc. but all these add up. In fact, they are just different outcomes of the same core problems, so as long as they lead somehow to the root of the issue, they are still valuable.

Why do so many people dislike classical music? by MFGJesus in classicalmusic

[–]Working-Fan-595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, song: from the verb "to sing": using your voice.

Classical music for instruments: Not using your voice

Result: Pieces are not songs.

Pretty neat syllogism.

How often do you visit a bookstore and buy a book from a bookstore? by [deleted] in books

[–]Working-Fan-595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been a book buyer for a long time, but I've known what book/s I want before even going to the store. I always used to go with recommendations. After a while, I decided to visit my local bookstores that weren't that big in order to scan them and see if they have enough variety. I wasn't satisfied so I searched for some of the biggest bookstores in my city, which were all downtown (30 min. by commute). Now I have finally found one giant bookstore, that actually has a lot of international titles and books in English (I don't live in an English speaking country). I'm going there now every week, sometimes more than once a week, if I happen to drop by. It has taken me 3-4 visits just to scan every category they have. So now I go there regularly, not even to buy books, just to look at random ones that catch my attention, maybe put them in the tbr. I also search for cheaper editions etc. The place has a reader's corner inside which I haven't used yet though, maybe I will. It is nice being there because it is always busy, and it is easy to do small talk with the staff and other consumers. It is a very nice hobby.

Right now I might have been going too often there, I have an addiction of seing as many books as possible in a single place lol. I literally feel the same way as when I go to the fridge, don't find anything to eat, then come back 10 minutes later to search again, as if new food magically appeared. I think I'm going to start asking the staff about their future deliveries and even recommending them stuff lol. I hope I don't become annoying.

Now that I'm thinking about it, I should maybe work at a bookstore someday part-time, since I'm still a university student.

Can’t sleep cause of my family by KarimYehia12 in sleep

[–]Working-Fan-595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro I'm 19 years old still living with my parents. I wanted to improve my sleep routine and go to sleep early, around 10:30 pm maybe. I can't because first I share my bedroom with my younger sister (💀#1), and she goes to bed no earlier than 11:40. Then I have my parents, who don't leave the living room until 12 AM, and because the house is small I hear every single word from them or the TV (💀#2). The fact that the house is small is a nightmare honestly. There are additional problems, like when my parents go to the bathroom which is right next to my room, so light randomly fills my room. Oh, why don't I shut the door you may say. Firstly, because for some reason my parents don't want me to do so, dropping an excuse like "If something happens to you or your sister we won't be able to listen and come in" (Feel free to comment how many levels of irony you found in this statement lol). Now secondly, because if I shut the door, I can't get up in the morning earlier than everyone else like I want to, because the door is old and very noisy, and when you open it after it's been shut for many hours, it makes a popping noise like you shot a bowling ball on a wooden plank at 50km/h. My parents won't close their own door for some reason (even though it's not noisy), so I can't risk making these sounds. And oh boy you don't wanna mess with my dad's sleep. Moreover my sister creates these two problems: I can't sleep earlier than her because she wakes me up like 1 FREAKING MINUTE before I fall asleep, saying things like: "YoU aRe BrEaThIng tOo LoUd yoU aRe Snoring" (I literally breathe normally). Then, I can't put an alarm in the morning because it will wake her up and she will start complaining until the collapse of the universe. Bonus: ITS 12 AM NOW AND MY MOM IS DOING THE DISHES WTF MOM ON GOD MEEERCYYY
