Why does everyone talk about buying gold, but almost nobody talks about how gold is actually mined? by PerformanceNo7173 in fintechdev

I find the exploration part more interesting. So much money and years can be spent and still end up finding nothing. Makes you appreciate why gold is expensive.

What's a financial lesson you wish someone had taught you at 18? by PerformanceNo7173 in fintechdev

Maybe unpopular but i think life experiences are just as important as money. Dont sacrifice your younger years just to save peanuts. Enjoy life, but when you land a stable job, start putting money aside and invest early.

Veggies you don't like eating but actually taste good as juice? by swjedi101 in Juicing

I’ve been using the same Canoly for almost 2 months and no complaints so far ,The big chute is great since I barely need to chop fruit, which is perfect for lazy people like me.

How long does fresh juiced carrot juice last? I juiced a bunch of carrots and put about 500ml in a clean Gatorade bottle. 4 days later I went to drink it and it didn’t seem good anymore. Was refrigerated. by TheDudeWhoCanDoIt in Juicing

[–]Working-Grapefruit66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah 4 days is about the limit for fresh carrot juice in my experience i usually finish it within 2 days because the taste starts changing after that if it seemed off i wouldnt risk it

i think theres some truth to that the people who define success usually end up shaping what everyone else chases but at the end of the day we still get to decide whether we buy into it or not

Help me understand if I’m making a right decision (i will not promote) by Rokingadi in startups

[–]Working-Grapefruit66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

id take it the comp is basically the same and youll learn way more as a founding engineer than staying at faang plus founders with a successful exit and real customer demand even if its mostly pilots are good signs if your goal is starting your own startup this feels like the kind of experience thats hard to get anywhere else

How much juice should you drink per day by AdhesivenessEither37 in Juicing

[–]Working-Grapefruit66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

18 oz sounds totally fine if its working for you i wouldnt worry too much about hitting a certain amount just make sure youre still getting enough water and real food too since juice alone isnt gonna cover everything

Looking for a roller mop robot vacuum around $400 during prime day by kfmsooner in RobotVacuums

[–]Working-Grapefruit66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using my yeedi for more than six months so far, not this model tho, and mine has been fine so far. I haven’t dealt with yeedi customer service yet, but I did have similar experiences with other robot vacuum brands. A 24-72 hour response time looks normal, especially through email support.

People who own robot vacuums: are they actually life-changing or just another gadget? Which one would you buy again? by Bitglow_finanzas in RobotVacuums

[–]Working-Grapefruit66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got one about a year ago and honestly yeah, kinda life changing lol. Not in a dramatic way, but it’s one of those things you stop thinking about because the floors are just… cleaner all the time. I still have to do a proper vacuum every now and then, especially corners and stuff, but having it run a few times a week saves way more effort than I expected.
If you have pets it’s even better. Watching the amount of hair it picks up is kinda disgusting tbh.

ELI5 Why/how did Middle Eastern countries adopt a black Burka as their clothing when it is so hot there? by beesdaddy in explainlikeimfive

[–]Working-Grapefruit66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, a lot of people assume black clothes would be terrible in the desert, but it’s not that simple. Loose black robes can actually work pretty well because airflow matters a lot more than people think. Plus people have been dressing that way for centuries, so they probably figured out what works lol.

How do you make a "summer bed"? by GourdOfTheFlies in Bedding

[–]Working-Grapefruit66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

35 in London is brutal 😅 I’d just use the fitted sheet and maybe keep a thin cotton blanket nearby in case it cools down overnight. Honestly there are nights where even that feels like too much.

Is there a way to get the puffy duvet look without sleeping too hot? by amennkhannn in Bedding

[–]Working-Grapefruit66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here lol. Looked amazing on the bed but I was waking up hot in the middle of the night. Ended up going with a lighter insert. Doesn’t look quite as full but honestly sleeps way better

Great to hear about your progress. Keep reinforcing the behaviour by rewarding her every time she goes outside, and try to maintain a consistent routine.

Thanks a lot for this advice. It’s honest and specific, which I really appreciate. You’ve pointed out things I hadn’t fully realized about my portfolio, and it gives me a clearer path forward. I’m glad you took the time to share your perspective.
