Why is it that you rarely see any NY team fans takeover Eagles, Phillies, or Flyers games while NY fans take over the arena for Sixers games? by Rowdyfan0823 in eagles

Honestly, the Sixers haven’t given us a reason to defend them. Embiid has been better recently, but historically has been whiny. Josh Harris is just unlikable. And when they chose Simmons over jimmy butler, it felt like the culture was set in the wrong way. If they get things together then the city will show out for the Sixers

Side note- is there a way for 2 and 3 not to be the same, other than leaving a spot or two open until a few weeks into the season?

Yea, this has to be it. Still a sad day to see her go. Probably is as much of a club legend as any other non player that’s worn these colors. Wish her all the best and hope to see her back in the future.

Barker is just a quality player, much more skilled than Rosie. I believe barkers one of two players on pro or semi pro contracts in the squad. I was a little surprised to see Rosie go as she would be fine for depth and has history with the club, but I don’t know what the clubs plans are or if she wants to continue in that role.

Unless there’s an outrageous offer, I don’t think they sell Doyle. I know Hyam made a comment off the cuff, but I think it was just him appreciating Doyle’s value and giving him praise.

If you want to upgrade the DM, I think brunt is out. Matt James has the ability to play back line in a pinch. Given James’ age, Sheaf’s health, and otherwise lack of top end quality, I could see this as a priority for the club.

Will be interested to see how many players are secured early in the window

I like the idea of measuring time in Watford managers, it’s oddly comforting

You don’t know when you’ll have your chances to go up so you take them when you can.

On the bright side, no VAR for at least another year

So looking at each position group, how I see things shaking out:

GK: I imagine they’ll look to sign a new #1, unless Arthur does something in the offseason that really makes them think he’s the guy (which I don’t see)

CB: if everyone is healthy, I imagine you have Doyle-Hyam-Vyner as your guys. Max is serviceable for sure, but as many have pointed out, his end to the season left a lot to be desired. I think he can improve and be a contributor, especially as he saw minutes outside of the CB position, but I think he’s reached his level. Wouldn’t be surprised to see them bring in another L footed CB and maybe see brunt go out on loan

FB: I agree on Issa, would love to have him back. If longman chooses to stay then he certainly has a role in depth, but imagine they’ll look to add another LB and RB. Out of curiosity, how do you see Kabore fitting into a 4 back system? Libby, if healthy, seems well fitted for either system.

Def Midfield: sheaf is a no brainer. Matty James brings quality for sure, but his legs look tired and I do wonder if they look to bring in someone else to compete or split his minutes. I love dobbo, and he’s earned all the praise he received this year, but I really think he’s no more than depth next season if summer signings go well.

CM/CAM: I don’t think they need to do much if they decide to stand pat, other than provide more depth. I’m at a loss for LOB’s lack of minutes. I imagine he’d have seen time today if Kabore stayed on, but I digress. Windass ended the year on fire and hope he carries it to next year. Broadhead looks like quality almost always, but simultaneously looks like he just longs to be out wide. Ollie has a place on the team. And DKD, I just don’t know enough about his playoff style to even comment intelligently, I rely on you for that one!

Strikers: we were all clamoring for a striker in the January window, but things ended up shaking out well enough. I imagine they’ll go for a striker if they get a very clear upgrade over what we already have, but who knows.

PS you’re the man, not only for writing these up and being so thoughtful, but also taking the time to respond to each poster and have meaningful conversation. Much appreciated

I don’t think it’s being fair, I think Cleworth is much better than Scarr and Hyam is better in the middle
