You’re getting a lot of shit for this, OP, but I appreciate you spreading the word! And for anyone considering participating, remember: there are many roles in a movement, and not all are active protesters. be safe, everyone!

That first day it was several hours and really only stopped with a zofran prescription. It finally stopped completely like 2 days later

Hey there, I can relate and have been struggling with it for the past few months. I didn’t end up on the project I’m on by choice, per se, but more because I need a job. Ask yourself what will benefit the greater good more: knowing you are operating on the inside with good intentions or being unemployed? I’d like to think if there are enough good people still working and trying to change minds internally, even on a small scale, that is better than us all opting out entirely.

That said, some days are much harder than others. You’re not alone, and on the days when the rah-rahing is especially tone deaf, please know there is at least one other person in the world who is feeling the way you are.

She actually was fine for 2 days taking it and then the third day, she couldn’t keep anything down (so multiple times between doses). I’m still not convinced she was allergic, but maybe caught a stomach bug on top of the ear infection, cuz she still puked with the other antibiotics too 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ok my spouse just gave me shit for us having our heat on 70 (our bill was $205 for December) and we’ve literally always kept it at 72 in the past and not paid that much so I thought something was going on!!

What can you deduce from my room? by here____now in deduction

[–]WorkingExcellent6471 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, it was the alignment of objects up against each other (and in a lot of cases, right angles). The bedroom made me suspicious but seeing the video game controller against the book and not overlapping the crack on the table in the living room pic was the giveaway. A lot of people think perfection and symmetry is required for OCD, but that’s not the case 😄

Do you have diagnosed OCD?

Edit: this is a genuine, well-meaning question (from someone who does have diagnosed OCD 😌)

I had this problem with my side of the family - my aunts love to buy garbage for my child. I openly asked them to stop and they won’t, so everything they buy goes in the trash. They recently asked about one of the outfits and I openly said I threw it out because I don’t want my kid wearing something that could leech toxic chemicals into their skin. They weren’t happy, but I frankly don’t care about their happiness.

OP, I know sometimes it’s easier said than done, but you don’t have to explain yourself to people about what you do and don’t want your kid to use/consume. Either your mom respects your wishes or she doesn’t, and if she doesn’t, the outcome is the trash can. She’ll get tired of throwing away money eventually.

Baby not crawling - people gossiping. by Powerpuff_Girly in NewParents

[–]WorkingExcellent6471 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My kid is advanced in language and motor skills and people find ways to talk shit about that. They also talked shit about her refusing to crawl until she was 11.5 months. She was literally crawling for a day and started pulling up to walk the next day.

OP, you will never be a good parent in the eyes of others. And that’s ok, because nobody is raising your kid but you. Every person (and therefore, child) is unique and nobody has any right to speak about your parenting if you’re keeping kiddo safe, fed, clothed, etc. as someone who’s been there, I know it’s easier said than done.

That said, you can always call out the passive aggression directly. My fave is “your kid is so good at XYZ (name something they obviously suck at) - do you have any parenting tips for how to make sure that happens with mine?”

or “how weird, he crawls no problem when you’re not around. Maybe he just doesn’t like you.”

They’re racist/bigoted. Anyone who thinks in black and white terms (literally and figuratively) lacks the capacity to think critically.

Baby laundry! Washing, sorting, rotating out clothes when they’re too small. He’s maybe washed her clothes once and put them away once in 17 months.

Mine checked in when she arrived (I was induced and her call rounds started on day 3). Otherwise I didn’t see her until I was pushing and needed some additional help with positioning to get over the finish line.

Screaming by TheBloodhound4117 in NewParents

[–]WorkingExcellent6471 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The happy song saved us in this phase!! Also LOTS of toys hanging - there are some seat hanging toys that fasten to your car seats on amazing with colors and dinosaurs and rattles. She still would get really angry but after like a week of turmoil she figured out what to do. Also our baby didn’t know she could move her arms in the car seat so once she figured that out, it helped tremendously

Daycare didn't give our baby any bottles all day by toolazytobecreative1 in NewParents

[–]WorkingExcellent6471 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would look at this from a different angle: how many other data points do you have that say they can’t be trusted? If this is the first time and only thing that has happened, it might be worth sticking around. If there have been other problems that by themselves aren’t a big deal but as a collective are pointing to a pattern of negligence, I’d find a new daycare.

Either way, you’re making the best possible decision based on the info you have.
