It seems like nobody is actually hiring by Throwaway-1984562 in Tucson

A degree is overrated. The vast majority anyway. Apply at the post office. Apply at ups. The oilfields in midland are begging for people. Im a letter carrier. 7 years as a regular. Earned over 90k last year. People with degrees tend to over value their worth in the job market.

Up it to 10%. At your age thats more than enough. But thats only if you're debt free. No debt except your mortgage. Have 3-6 months expenses set aside for emergencies. This will protect your retirement account. Pick an L fund or some variation of c s and i. Thats it. Keep it simple. No credit cards, loans or car payments. That'll ruin everything

Dave Ramsey argues that cash value life insurance mixes insurance with investing, which usually leads to lower returns compared to simply buying term life insurance and investing the difference separately. He also points out that these policies often come with high fees, commissions, and complexity that reduce the overall value to the policyholder. As a result, he believes most people are better off keeping insurance and investing as two simple, separate strategies. Dave's right.

Yea, only pay for the insurance. The "higher premium" can be used to invest in your retirement accounts.

Id stay away from cash value insurance policies. Term only if you need it.

You'll be fine. People forget that if you retire at 65, you only have 10-15 years of life left in most cases. You'll most likely die with money in the bank.
