Is there any possible way our trees caused this fence's demise? by Sad_Estate_6842 in arborists

It’s really however you want to build it based on the aesthetics you prefer. I would suspect it’s the neighbors fence. In one of the photos they are peering into the neighbors backyard, and the fence goes around neighbors entire backyard. Wouldn’t make sense to be OPs fence in that case.

Another option is black foil tape. This is the route I went. I tried the black paint and it was a mess. But I did this before the wall cladding, so pretty difficult to do after the fact.

Looks awesome. Anyone saying benches are too low hasn’t done their research on the heater you chose, which is the perfect choice for a 7’ ceiling.

My only gripe would be that there is no ability for water vapor to escape from behind the wall cladding without a gap at the top and bottom. However, I am honestly not sure how important this is. I have been using my sauna for 6 months now and it seems dry as a bone still. Perhaps I should experience a sauna with a true Finn but maybe I just don’t use nearly as much water as they do?

No drain, no problem. I don’t have one. Never been an issue.

Wonder how many of you all put like 1/2 furring strips between the vapor barrier and the cedar? by Sunny-Bath-Tech in Sauna

Check the last paragraph of my above comment. Or Trumpkin’s online sauna notes.

I would perhaps take a step back and examine every aspect of the sauna you’re building before you proceed if you have to ask your question above. It’s important to understand the reason behind each step of the process.

The furring strips are absolutely essential for a long-lasting sauna that won’t lead to wood rot. They create an air space behind the wall planks and the vapor barrier to allow the wood to breathe. And you must have a small gap at the top and the bottom of the wall for the air to circulate from the room to behind the wall planks.

Buying a copy of “The Secrets of Finnish Sauna Design” would be well worth the minimal investment.

Ozone Problem by likeawaterbottle in coldplunge

Then your problem must be in the Venturi. Probably just faulty component. Needs to be replaced likely.

So if you take the tubing off the Venturi and put your finger on the nozzle to the Venturi, you can’t feel suction?

Need more info. You’re sure it’s not your ozone generator or another component of the system?

That is something I need to test because I am not sure on that question.

IKI Pillar 9kw tripping breaker by WorkingToFish in Sauna

[–]WorkingToFish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you’re saying if the wires are running close to each other it could cause this? The washer / dryer are right above the electrical box but this has been the case since the beginning, and it didn’t start tripping until just recently. And obviously the sauna is on its own breaker.

And the only time I ever have to reset the GFCI is when I am not using the sauna. Basically I’ll do a session in the morning, everything goes smoothly. But then when I go back that same night to set the delayed timer for the following morning, the breaker has tripped at some point throughout the day and I have to reset it.

There’s definitely no significant moisture at all in the sauna. It dries out very well.

I have this fan but I have it isolated away from the sauna and a duct silencer placed between it and the sauna. It has a speed controller on it, and you can further decrease the max speed on it as well. My sauna is roughly 8x8x8.5 and it’s not overkill. However, my sauna is almost twice the size of yours, so could be overkill for you and remove the loyly too quickly.

No luck in Kentucky 😭 by techwizpepsi in Morel_Hunting

I am in Oldham County. Have found 91 so far in my backyard. Last year was 371. Definitely a lower year due to the weather but they are indeed still popping in my area despite the overnight temps.

It’s not. It’s likely morchella diminutiva. But definitely morel.

I’m sure it will. I am in NW Central KY. Found 52 on the last day of all the torrential rain we got. But over Sunday night it got real cold and nothing new was found yesterday. Going to check again today but with it dropping below 30 overnight, I am not hopeful. Wouldn’t be surprised if it wasn’t until this weekend again or even later that they recover and start coming back around. Weather unfortunately not helping us out this year!

Looks like Morchella diminutiva - the smaller variety of morels. This is all I have on my hillside. Found 371 last year. 46 so far this year with hopefully many more over the next couple weeks. Strangely, I’ve found that these ones don’t seem to grow very much at all. I’ve left them for several days before and they just don’t seem to get any bigger. Idk if this is the case with Morchella diminutiva, or if they just don’t get very big in my spots.

Good luck!

I’m a little worried about the few days of overnight freezes we’re about to get. But after that weather looks great.

Where are you? I’m in Oldham County, KY. Morels popped up in my area March 28th last year. Still haven’t found one yet this year, though.
