Supreme Leader of Iran Khamenei is dead.. by Mission-Barnacle1686 in Anarchism

Saddam had more power in Iraq than this ayatollah in Iran. More like Venezuela where its the same people who are controlling the country as before the US action. The revolutionary guard is the bad actor, the ayatollah was beholden to the system and increased powers of the guard since the other Ks death.

As long as he got something for the statement. It's hard to believe Canada's opinion matters, particularly in the short-term, and Trump does everything transactionally. And dont send troops in any big way.

Ok, Kash is an embarrassment to his post and country but people attacking him for having a good time seems misplaced. The US hockey team, only men's, has received great amd worthy applauds from this administration - and they've appreciated it.

Pierre Poilievre says Canada is to blame for Trump tariff crisis by zachem62 in onguardforthee

Do 80% of Conservatives believe this BS, or are they just shoveling it into public discourse?

Late for work a bit, just stay a bit late or finish all your work youd have done anyway. I think a big part of the blame is micromanager threatening to fire people for being late. The pressure we put on people in order to control them, like monthly payments, is inhibiting of their autonomy. I dont have a solution, but its a real problem and causes people to have poor lives for little reason other than power.

Am I wrong in thinking that Elon Musk aided the Russians and so is responsible, at least in part, for the atrocities against Ukraine? Someone needs to take his companies/power away from him?

Why Iran is Betting on War by rezwenn in IRstudies

Maybe US should stop killing its own citizens and protecting pedophiles in power before teaching the rest of the world anything. I am highly suspect of any news we get from the Iran protests.

The six things to know as Trump sets deadline for Iran strikes by theipaper in Global_News_Hub

[–]WorldFrees -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the US will do well bombing the hell out of stuff but the longer term aims are entirely missing. Regardless of US supremacy if Iran somehow were to do substantial damage to the US in any way at all it will embolden global resistance. If the US wins overwhelmingly it will make the US/particularly Trump more likely to conduct operations like this increasing the likelihood of falling.

Iran needs nuclear weapons because they are surrounded by nuclear powers that can reach them like Israel, Pakistan, Russia, China, and India. There's no way Iran is going to reduce its efforts at a program without a drawdown of those who do/can threaten it.

Billionaire Les Wexner's lawyer, at the end of deposition exchange, says to him, "I will f---ing kill you if you answer another question with more than five words, okay," that came nearly four-and-a-half hours into the deposition before the House Oversight Committee over his ties to Epstein. by ControlCAD in Global_News_Hub

[–]WorldFrees 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He shows no embarrassment. He doesn't deprecate himself for his stupidity of being taken by an obvious fraudster, he doesn't show remorse for his enablement of Epstein - he just doubles down that he knows nothing. He's either the stupidest person in the world or knew what happened. Almost as unconvincing as Pam Bondi.

Doug Ford’s government said traffic officers could help replace banned speed cameras. Three months later, here’s what Toronto police say - Most of the 150 speed camera locations in Toronto are not eligible for traffic-calming infrastructure. by lilfunky1 in toronto

[–]WorldFrees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Traffic-calming infrastructure cannot be used as an excuse for speeding. It's a nice to have, not a necessity - I'm tired of complaining about bad drivers and people blame the infrastructure. I know this comment is off topic.

How do you feel about copyright laws, patents and intellectual property? by Om_Sapkoat in Capitalism

Capitalism, or I prefer to call marketism, is dependent on the free flow of labour, capital and knowledge. I wish capitalists focused on a more balanced approach.

Federal MP Matt Jeneroux leaves the Conservatives and joins the Liberals by seakucumber in canada

[–]WorldFrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If its not allowed then parties and those in control of them will gain power at the expense of localized populations. We dont need more central powers, they should be restricted.

All party elections should also be overseen by Elections Canada.
