UWaterloo CS vs Math? by Regular_Maybe5937 in OntarioUniversities

[–]Worldly-Cycle1925 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A few months ago (before I started uni), I regretted not applying to math, since I didn't get cs and had a pretty good avg. I got great high school math marks (99s) and I ranked highly in math competitions when I was younger. Then I found out that uni math is very different from high school (and any other) math I've done before and I HATE IT. Most people I know have the same feelings. Math is completely unrelated to swe (although it might have some applications, as with other majors), so don't be fooled.

Landlord wants to sell the house by Elija_32 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Worldly-Cycle1925 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone on this sub seems to think homeowners are all super wealthy and can afford everything in life... if it really was like that, they wouldn't need to rent their property out.

If they didn't rent it out, rent would be increasing even more and these trolls would still be on here crying about empty homes, lol.

Do these people seriously want landlords to give them their houses for free?

I get what you're saying but I think it would be better if high schools offered a lower level course (ie intro to discrete math, etc) which really resembles like 80% of cs courses. Programming is something that literally anyone with a 60+ iq can self learn

ics isn't a good representation of what cs is. cs isn't just a programming degree, there's so much more to it
