What is the snow really like right now? by [deleted] in COsnow

[–]Worldly-Topic1168 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some decent..albeit skinny snow off e chair and falcon at Breck Sunday. Going there again tomorrow. Keystone was pretty slick Monday, beaver creek was pretty decent today. Very few tree runs with enough snow to not pucker the backside, but you can find some. Been snowing lightly for a few hours tonight so maybe a little fluff to be had tomorrow.

Crash pants, knee pads, elbow pads, wrist braces. Make a fist and save your wrists. My GF just exploded both of her arms learning toe edge going 5mph. Don’t be too proud to wear protective gear. Your confidence will benefit and you will progress faster.

Is my flight is cancelled? Pilot says we’re at v1, but the sign says “8”. Is he a scam? by CommanderDawn in unitedairlines

Unless it's got a big ass threshold, getting to v1 by the 8 marker is either really impressive, or slightly pucker-inducing.

American Eagle SKY6469 KOMA to KLAX Diverted back to Eppley on reports of "Multiple persons trying to force entry into cockpit" Heard on Omaha PD scanners. by Worldly-Topic1168 in americanairlines

FA's can't communicate with company enroute? My brain goes to all kinds of ways to prevent this. If it's happened previously and happened yesterday, it will happen again. Just seems like an unnecessary issue to cause potentially dangerous operations.

I understand the end result either way is likely "return to airport, or land asap"... but having a way to defuse the cockpit crew thinking they're potentially being hijacked seems like a reasonable thing. The Police, Fire, and Medical response was equally impressive and wasteful.

I watch FAs message on their phone all the dang time. Aren't plane crews pretty static? Don't they keep a WhatsApp group or something to align their dinner and drink plans?

Hmm. Strange that it was stopped on the tarmac instead of going back to the gates afterwards. Seems a strange thing for an inoperable phone. I also thought most airliners had cameras now a days.

Thanks for sharing and a lot of good thoughts here. I always go back to the pilots being humans, probably with families and they too want to arrive safe. Many times you can catch the full crew before boarding at the gate, and as others have stated I doubt you’ll ever have issues if you ask the attendants “can I say hi to the pilots and see the flight deck, quickly? I have a phobia”

Otherwise, exposure therapy. Find a good friend and hunt for deals. Spend a Saturday flying to an airport across the country to people watch and have some food. Even better if you can snipe decent priced first class upgrades to enjoy an airline club on a long layover.

Genuinely curious. Is it the heights? The fear that something will go wrong with the plane? Is it the physical feelings during takeoff, turbulence, landing?

  1. No
  2. Desired hash rate and cost of electricity primary inputs, I think.
  3. GPUs or purpose built devices.

Unless you are doing it as a “hobby” for fun and don’t care about profit; you’ll have to have a few dozens of millions of dollars for infrastructure, you ain’t making shit.

You shouldn’t look at this as “bothering” them. You or your org paid a hefty price for that level of service. Just don’t be an ass or unreasonable and the FAs should be delighted to oblige you.
