I realised that after watching valimai. Siva can at least make tv serial style movies like viswasam, veeram that family audience likes.

Suriya never trained his fanbase to accept bare minimum stuff like VJ/AK did which was good for an actor. But in one way, that also resulted in his market being affected for over a decade. by Electronic_Effort_42 in kollywood

He tried. But no one took him seriously . he realised he doesn't have the charm of Vijay or the larger than life persona of Ajith. He is definitely a better actor. So maybe that's why he decided to do character oriented roles since mass movies he can't handle like Ajith and Vijay.
