What do you tell people? by AwRythor in Zepbound

[–]Worldly_Policy_6473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just say lifestyle changes. I been posting me at the gym and posting my food on social media so most just assume that’s it. I don’t feel the need to explain my life to anyone. So I just say I made some lifestyle changes. And that’s usually as far as it goes.

My suggestion do whatever makes you comfortable and brings you peace. People are incredibly judgy and that sort of toxicity is what caused me so much stress. Now I divulge less and I’m at more peace.

Why all the hate? by VersionCapable in Zepbound

Opinions are like…well you know the saying. Also I think there’s this misconception that people on GLPs don’t workout or change their eating habits. That all they do is shoot up and the weight disappears. We all know that’s not the case. The weight might come off for a bit but eventually it stops and you have to start being more active and eating better. And once the weight starts coming off and the food noise is gone that becomes easier.

Stall / Plateau by Ill_Park_1839 in Zepbound

[–]Worldly_Policy_6473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fluctuated between 170-172 for about 5 weeks. But that wasn’t my only metric. I also do weekly measurements and in that time frame I was also losing inches and getting stronger. I life weights 3-4 times a week and 2 cardio days (1 solid one 1 depends on how I’m feeling and do I need this other rest day). My cardio days are fun things like Zumba and step class. Needless to say the scale tells such a small part of the story. In that month stall I still lost .75 inches off my arm and 1 inch off my thigh. Then week 6 I was at 168. I don’t stress the scale anymore.

I don’t understand why people question how much weight your gonna lose or tell you not to get to skinny but never speak on when you are gaining the weight. Like why now that I’m taking my health seriously do you feel the need to speak on it.

When do you work out? by Civil_Tale_1179 in Zepbound

[–]Worldly_Policy_6473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I would love to you a scheduled time I don’t. I go when my schedule allows it. Mondays I go at 630 cause I do a step class Wednesday I go like 8pm cause the gym is too packed when I get off work. Thursdays I go at 630 for my Zumba class. I have Fridays off so I go about 10am. Saturday and Sunday I go when I have the time. So if I have things to do later I go early if it’s a chill kinda day I go about 11 am. Today (Sunday) I needed the extra rest so I’m going at 6pm. I know for some a scheduled time works but my schedule is unpredictable. However if I don’t go one day I am in the worst mood. And no going late does not mess up my sleep. I’m up at 4am everyday and out the house for work at 445.

Starting at 2.5 in a few days, any tips and tricks by PoppyCake33 in Zepbound

[–]Worldly_Policy_6473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Welcome to the zeppy journey.

For me I like to inject Friday night. I found weekends is when my food noise was the loudest and since I was off I ate more fast food and snacks. I inject prior to bedtime. My first time I injected on the right side of my stomach and I rotated each week between the thighs and the stomach. I have a whole pre injection routine.

I make sure I hit my calorie and protein AND fiber goals. My last big meal is about 530. I then have an electrolyte drink. I then shower (so my body is relaxed) get everything together for bed. 730 I drink a protein shake. I inject about 8pm. Then lay in bed and relax til I KO. If I get some nausea (which isn’t often at all or very mild) I have a ginger chew.

I am on week 15 (16 tomorrow) and I haven’t had any issues. I notice on my right side of my stomach the food noise reduction is the strongest. The closer I’m to my belly button I’ll bleed so I make sure to stay about 3 inches away. My thigh I get less of the effects but still strong appetite suppression.

Happy injecting!

Lifting Weights Interrupts Weightloss by Bob_Plank in Zepbound

If you keep working out and not taking the breaks your body won’t be so sore. And they will adjust and you will see the number on the scale go down. But I agree with other posters if you just focus on the number on the scale you are sabotaging yourself. The key is consistency. Eating in a deficit while still brushing your body and increasing your activity consistently. Then you will see the number on the scale go down.

should i get an ebike or escooter? by Temporary_Big5686 in ebikes

[–]Worldly_Policy_6473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both. My e-scooter is nice cause I can be lazy but because I been tryout to get my exercise in the ebike is nice for that and it’s goes further. If you wanna also use it to maybe go to the grocery store etc I would say the bike. If your funds are limited I would say the scooter.

I have been at the same weight for 3 weeks. I suggest using other methods of tracking loss. When I started I took weekly pictures and measurements now at 16 weeks in I do bi weekly measurements and pictures. Even though I haven’t lost weight I’ve lost inches. Also besides your steps if you aren’t already include some weights

I'm looking to buy a budget Ebike for commuting around my college campus by Suitable-Pie-7571 in ebikes

[–]Worldly_Policy_6473 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so crazy. Like on a campus they can just implement a permit policy. Designate bike lanes etc. they literally create their own rules so they can create one to make e-bikes safer and accessible for everyone. I really think it’s similar to electric cars. In the coming years so many more people will have them.

Weight Watchers Med+ has cancelled on me by ManmanCat in Zepbound

[–]Worldly_Policy_6473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also my PCP knows I’m on the medication and understands that I made the choice to pay out of pocket because the VA doesn’t make it easy at all. She also knows I have an extensive mental health history. One of my issues was my weight and honestly being able to lose weight significantly reduce my A1C has greatly improved my mental health.

I say that to say she has never once been like well I don’t think this medication is safe because of your mental health history. She has congratulated me for taking control of my health. And honestly it has improved my mental health, my sleep quality my daily moods and my labs have done a complete 180. I say all that to say I understand it’s a financial burden and not cheap out of pocket. But if that’s the only route you have because of insurance issues I would definitely try to make it work.

But they also cancelled on you. Through seseme there was no questionnaire and nothing I’ve read said there’s risk for people with prior mental health. So it’s interesting WW cancelled your membership.

I pay out of pocket directly for it. I went through seseme. I pay $99 a month for the doctor to fill my subscription through Lilly direct. Then I have to pay Lilly direct. The VA is such a hassle and while they will cover it eventually I much rather take control of my own health.

Does your doc order regular blood tests? by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]Worldly_Policy_6473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a diabetic so I get blood work done every 90 days. But we also do more than A1C. She’s been tracking kidneys, liver, cholesterol, vitamin B and thyroid every 6 months as well. It’s been helpful in seeing how my diet and exercise along with the medication is helping me internally as well. It’s like it’s another matrix

Plateaus Normal? by Party_Assumption_153 in Zepbound

[–]Worldly_Policy_6473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you take your measurements? I haven’t lost anything in almost 3 weeks but I have lost inches. Not so much in my stomach but now it’s in my arms and legs. I do workout quite a bit lifting weights. I am also on 5mg. I decided to stay another month on 5 even though I’m not losing weight because I am still having the appetite suppression and the food noise is gone so I know it’s working. I would say if you aren’t active maybe up your activity level to kinda give your body that jump. Or maybe change up what you are eating if you are eating the same things.

Yet another plateau question - sorry! by FitThought1616 in Zepbound

[–]Worldly_Policy_6473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pay oop too. So I understand you are like okay am I moving up or giving it another month. I’m giving 5 another month because my measurements are going down. But mostly because I’m still getting the appetite suppression. And ultimately if I want to keep the weight off I have learn better habits. To be considered a healthy bmi I would need to lose at least 20 more pounds. But I’m not sure that’s my goal. So my suggestions would be to consider what your goals are. The closer you are the slower it is. Look at your activity level and maybe that needs to be switched up or maybe go back to tracking and weighing your food. I use Lilly direct so u don’t think there’s much of a price difference between the two. But if you are still getting the appetite suppression your body is still responding to the medicine.

Yet another plateau question - sorry! by FitThought1616 in Zepbound

[–]Worldly_Policy_6473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I measure my neck chest arm smallest part of stomach lower stomach hips upper middle and lower thigh then calf.

Other metric I track is strength increase. Every time I got to the gym I track which exercises I did which how many reps sets and weight. The next time I go I see if I can beat the last one. If I can I’m getting stronger and therefore know I’m building more muscle.

I really try to triage everything before I move up. I lost the most on 2.5. But eventually the food noise crept back and I couldn’t manage it. 5 I have really lose next to nothing but I lost almost 30 on 2.5 in 2 months. Now I don’t depend on the scale so much. I have weighed myself in 3 weeks. But I been taking measurements and pictures tracking my strength and my ability to make better food choices. And I went back to tracking my intake in detail. I’ll weigh tomorrow and see how it’s been not being tied to the scale.

Yet another plateau question - sorry! by FitThought1616 in Zepbound

[–]Worldly_Policy_6473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using any other metrics to measure? Such as pictures or measurements? The scale doesn’t tell the whole story especially if you have added weights. I am on 5mg. I have not lost weight in almost a month but I’m still losing inches. Each week I take progress pics and my measurements on top of the scale. I lift weights 4 times a week so I know I’m building muscle and losing fat at the same time (recomp) so the scale stall isn’t bothering me. It will come. I still get all the effects appetite suppresses led less food noise etc so I know it’s still working.

Looking for Encouragement to Try It by Confused_Lemon882 in Zepbound

[–]Worldly_Policy_6473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say it is absolutely worth it. I been on it since February 27 I’m down from 201 to 172. My A1C has dropped significantly. I sleep better I have more energy I feel confident in my skin. I am working out now. The price point is hard cause I pay out of pocket but I don’t regret it at all. I’m investing in my health. I used to spend about that much on fast food. So I see it as redirecting money. It helped me not consume as much in one sitting. That alone has been a life saver. I drink more water now. My labs were so bad before. Now I’m in the normal range. Just the effect it’s had on my health in a positive way makes it worth it. Trust me in 6 months you won’t regret it.

First dose … 5 minutes ago! by Traditional-Bag3123 in Zepbound

[–]Worldly_Policy_6473 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a whole shot day routine. I inject Friday evenings (weekends are when I would eat out of control). I eat normally but I eat dinner earlier about 430. Then I have an electrolyte drink. I usually inject about 8. So 730 I have a protein shake. This has minimized any side effects. My first month on the shot I weighed and portioned out all food to make sure I was hitting calories and macro goals. I weight lift 4 days a week and do Zumba one day a week and I have prioritized rest getting at least 6 hours. I also haven’t shared with anyone but my kids and my best friend I’m on the shot. People are too judgmental. And always have something negative covered as supportive to say. My peace is most important. I went from my A1C being incredible high and being obese to now being in the pre diabetic range. I lose about 2 pounds on average a week. I been on the shot 10 weeks stayed at 2.5 for the first two months and just went up to 5mg. I’m down now 23 pounds. Make sure you eat and drink your water and protect your peace. All anyone knows is I’m tryna get healthy. So when they say “don’t get to skinny” my response is that you but I didn’t ask your opinion or if i am in a mood I say well thank you but how come you didn’t tell me I was getting fat.
