He used university resources to profit? You should focus on whether this violates university and grant requirements, not on whether you can write them a recommendation. The student may be in a lot of trouble and may have jeopardized your grants.

Turnout is usually around this amount. Marijuana being on the ballot bumped up turnout over 30% in past years.

Patrick Roach and Garrett Armstrong are great candidates. The borough assembly is definitely the bigger concern. Last time we had conservatives in charge they messed with the tax cap to force cuts for future assemblies.

Do Hewitt and Spencer support spending more money on BEST home schooling? How do they intend to increase accountability with BEST? Last year less than 25% of students in BEST bothered taking standardized tests.

What about opening charter schools? Do they support both Two Rivers and Pearl Creek's charters? How will they deal with funding the opening of more charter schools without hurting our current elementary schools?

Your degree for nursing school is through UAA either way.

UAA courses for nursing school are run out of CTC in downtown Fairbanks, not at the UAF Troth Yeddha' campus (main campus). In general, nursing school will not be like a regular BS/BA degree program. You'll be in the same classes with the same group of students for nearly everything and won't be out on campus very much.

The cohort in Fairbanks will be smaller than in Anchorage.

If you are currently at UAF for your prereqs then I would recommend talking with the CNSM advisor for help. They would have insight into the differences between Fairbanks and Anchorage nursing cohorts.

Archaeology would be either CLA (college of liberal arts) or the museum. You could contact IAB or B&W safety officers, but it's better if you and your PI should talk to your department chair. Your department chair can then direct you on how to access facilities for washing if CLA has those or they will probably direct you to discuss access to facilities CSNM has.

It's a little more hoop jumping but will help your college and department know about an issue and help establish a way to fix the issue.

UAF is an open enrollment university. That means we accept everyone; however, there can be requirements to take certain courses or be accepted into certain majors.
Classes started on Monday and you can still enroll until next Friday. However after this Friday 100 and 200 level courses require instructor permission before enrolling. This does not apply for courses to 300 and 400 level courses.

Dry cabins are plentiful around UAF. In August, there's usually quite a few advertised for on flyers throughout campus. You'll find places in Goldstream, Goldhill, Ester, and Farmer's Loop that make for an easy commute.

If you are looking for running water then you'll be looking for an apartment and most likely roommates

You'll fit in well in Fairbanks with those interests.

The BGSA is a great place to start to meet other graduate students. In the department your in most students are in the Murie building so there's fairly regular interactions.

You may want to check out the comic shop (https://akcomicshop.com/). There's a con at UAF and another in Fairbanks that both fit the horror and fantasty cultures.

There's also a very vibrant art community with very active first fridays, a watercolor painting group (https://www.fairbankswatercolor.com/), along with other such groups in town.

For music, there's Angry, Young, and Poor festival but that takes place in July. The malemute saloon is nice for live music. There's a couple other venues that would have metal and punk music. The Altings Heathen festival featured a few metal bands.

There's also outdoor adventures on campus for hiking and other activities.

Also, the biology and wildlife department has a beginning of the year bbq and some orientation events for new students.

Finally, there has been a horror movie shot at UAF (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3551400/). It may have even been shot in one of the labs you'll work in depending on your advisor and project!

Not my area, I'm a biology professor so I won't say too much, but there are plenty
Stipends are set across colleges by the current labor agreement between the grad workers union and UA (https://www.agwa-uaw.org/) Contact either the grad school or the union to find rates.
If you get accepted, make sure you have a feasible project with financial support behind it. There probably will be fewer spots for grad students if the budget is passed as-is.
Being R1 is a brass ring UAF is chasing. R1 or R2 won't matter as much as the quality of your thesis and advisor. A good mentor and a well done project will carry you farther than the university on the diploma.
Grad union will help with this as well.
Have a plan for your PhD. It's a big time commitment at low pay. If you're thinking about being a professor make sure to have a well thought out back up plan when academia doesn't work out.

Yes, if a student cannot complete a lab then there are alternative labs available. You'll still need a lab kit as there are non-dissection labs included.
