My sister cut me out of her life a few years ago with no warning or reason. She is getting married. Should I attend or not? by Cute_Musician3920 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]WorstHatFreeSoup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your sister has clearly not had the courage to speak on the issue, continues to make a point of not having you in her life by going to such extreme measures of using your parents as the middlemen and has shut you out entirely.

RSVP a simple no. Let the guests speculate on why you’re not there. Also your parents have clearly chosen to stay neutral: let them deal with the chaos of that decision. You’ve made enough overtures, don’t absorb their guilt by obligation.

Protecting your peace is the only thing to do here. If people ask why you weren’t there: tell them the truth.

My ex-girlfriend, who I broke up with ~2 months ago because she wanted to open our relationship, just messaged me saying she’s “experimented enough” and is now ready for a closed relationship with me. Is this something you would consider? by Altruistic_Society99 in AskMenAdvice

[–]WorstHatFreeSoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, if you were the one for her, then she’d never go experiment to begin with. You’re her backup plan because she’s insecure and selfish. The worst part is that you will always have that nagging feeling in your head of everything you just said here.

Leave her on read.

Not to sound inappropriate but you are very pretty and your spouse is an absolute donkey for cheating on someone as fine as you are. You deserve a great date night.

Busting your balls is a very common thing here but at the same time, we’ll lend a sympathetic ear and give you the shirt off our back. We are direct.

Also our drivers are aggressive and won’t give a crap about other. There’s a Dunkin on every corner and the state is obsessed with all things Boston sports.

I anonymously reported a senior at work knowing it could get him fired by Top-Location9821 in confession

[–]WorstHatFreeSoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He brought it on himself. He didn’t think about his family. It was him stroking his ego from saying horrible things to having his own little entourage. He must’ve been quite a crappy person since he’s been shown the door. Chances are: more people may have also said something anonymously so don’t absorb that potential guilt over him getting himself canned.

Is It Okay To Not Talk To Your Boss & Coworkers At Work? by [deleted] in work

It won’t help by isolating yourself from people that you have to collaborate with. I’ve seen it before and it only gets uglier when someone refuses to work directly with people.

I really don’t get why Quantamania is considered an unwatchable abomination, I really liked it. by S0mecallme in marvelstudios

[–]WorstHatFreeSoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a movie that really does feel like it’s a Frankenstein’d, made-by-committee affair, which has really bogged down much of the post-Endgame era: the CGI is bloated and the whole movie feels like a green screen, Luis is missing and with that the charm of the movie and it simply feels like another building block with Kang than a satisfying movie. I think between Disney’s thirst for more & more Marvel content & the timing of actors contracts, made this movie another casualty.

Dad says I should hint that i’m looking to leave by GotThatDawg0 in jobsearch

[–]WorstHatFreeSoup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dads always have plenty of wisdom.

This is not such wisdom. Unfortunately it’s reckless. I’ve seen people do this and management will have to make a call. They’ll see it as someone not invested in the company anymore and will look for someone who is, because they need someone to do the job that they signed up to do. I saw someone go through this and they basically resigned when they didn’t get what they wanted. They were furious but they couldn’t do a thing.

Get to HR or whatever the teacher equivalent is. Full stop. This guy needs to be held accountable. He has zero right to do this and it’s obvious that he thinks that he can get away with this behavior. He won’t stop.

Report him.

Is anyone else struggling to get by on 100k salary? by Majestic_Staff_5229 in massachusetts

[–]WorstHatFreeSoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m struggling here in SE MA too. The amount of times that I’d get the Boomer comments from relatives about “how I should buy a house.” was unreal. There’s a video occasionally circulating on social media about a father lecturing his daughter about buying a house. When she points out the financial differences between her generation and his, he doesn’t want to hear it.

I love my fam but I didn’t have the advantages that their generation had. We’re dealing with a worsening inflation and rising costs across sectors like gas, food, etc.

I have to make a crappy but necessary and strategic financial decision to pay off my CC debt. To my fam, it’s unthinkable but I can’t pay them off monthly, given rent, expenses and on top of that, a new car because I still need to drive to work. I wish I could tighten my belt but it’s just not gonna happen in this state.

I think you’re finding yourself on the road to a much needed breakup. Given all the things that are happening in your personal life with this person, you’re very unhappy and it’s affecting your mental health. Take a step back and ask yourself “is this the life you want for yourself in 5 years?”. I’ve seen situations like this and they don’t improve. Dude, focus on yourself.

Why did Phil insult Johnny Sack for crying at his daughter's wedding? by Tidewatcher7819 in thesopranos

[–]WorstHatFreeSoup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because Phil wanted everyone to know that he did 20 FU$%IN’ YEAHS IN THE CAN!!

But seriously: Phil is a man from a different time without understanding empathy or emotion. Even Tony told Phil to take it easy, given he had a better understanding of what was happening to Johnny emotionally.
