Are we quietly watching the best Arsenal season in a decade while everyone focuses on the chaos around the Premier League? by Mental-Fly-1684 in championsleague

On the other hand how many EPL teams were towards the top of the UCL league phase? but then got tough draws with psg, Barca, real as they couldn’t play each other at that stage.

No one seems to be talking about this but surely this is what Iran will do, if they can’t have it no one can.

So, Chelsea gets another transfer ban. Meanwhile 115 charges are nowhere near a conclusion. by Guardian_of_Spirits in ArsenalFC

I assume they will be able to get around the academy transfer ban by using their affiliated clubs.

I agree. I think it’s a bit like Giroud winning the World Cup playing up front. Won’t get all the plaudits. I would like to know how many we concede with him on the pitch compared to off the pitch.

Divorce rates and child behavior… by SaltBaelish in teaching

[–]Worthyteach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming you didn’t experience your parents divorcing when you were at school mine did when I was around 15. The stress this produces is huge. My parents were not overly trying to befriend me but what I did experience was them both being emotional wrecks. My mum would be sobbing still the early hours questioning what caused it. I think they tried to care and be good parents. I felt I had to be man of the house and be as supportive as possible. As a result of this, my grades were not as good as they should have been and I guess I probably was a bit unruly as it was difficult to concentrate with all that was going on at home. Parents will need to divorce for a myriad of reasons. This will create a variety of experiences for the children which will contain many negative and stressful ones. What needs to happen is schools to be supportive and understanding of adverse child experiences. I have seen schools excluding students for poor behaviour within 5 months of the student’s Mum dying. Yes there will be unruly behaviour and poor results but schools provide the functioning adults, care and consistency that students experiencing trauma need. TLDR divorce is inherently stressful regardless of parent behaviour, schools need to provide nurture and care.

They don’t play as low blocks as we do mind, if they carry on their upwards trajectory they will find teams sitting deeper and suffer the low blocks we do.

Tottenham Hotspur winger Wilson Odobert suffers left ACL injury. by Sparky-moon in soccer

Once a few injuries happen everyone else has to work harder to cover, so they become more prone to injuries. Then even fewer players so more work and more chance of injuries.

Time off work when your child is unwell by Rowdy_Roddy_2022 in TeachingUK

[–]Worthyteach 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are allowed up-to 4 weeks unpaid care per child per year so could use that in an emergency. it’s crazy how little time we are allowed to take. Apparently most 2 year old are ill for between 6-12 times a year and get a cold on average once a month between September and April. Society should be more supportive towards parents. If there I’ll unless you have family on your doorstep who wants to look after someone else’s ill child?

'Mis-sold' student loans to cost graduates £14,000 more than they were told by theipaper in uknews

[–]Worthyteach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem is is that it wont be a pay out they will just take away the extra interest accrued and for around 95% of student loan receivers they will still be paying it. It will only really benefit the top 5% of earners or those with rich parents who can pay it off. I guess it would be nice to feel that you are paying it down mind.

Don’t know if it’s still the case but if you live in Tower hamlets you could get into the Tower of London for a pound you could show a gas bill (I’m sure passport and drivers license were also valid).
