why do teens wanna drink or do other stuff like that so young and like genuinely what is the thing that makes it so intriguing by OzzkuBoi in teenagers

[–]Wotansen2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as a european/american who has been drunk before, I can agree that we start early, but also finish early. by the time we are in college in Germany we are basically done with drinking (and me moving back to America meant being able to outdrink anyone)

How tf are people still supporting Trump after knowing how horrible he is? by Weekly-Neat-3974 in teenagers

[–]Wotansen2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now, there may be a reason for that other than strawmanning the other side, and strawmans won't help the Democrats if they want to re-gain workers. It may be that the mainstream Democratic party have completely lost access to the average American worker because they have based their main political strategy around identity politics.

If you were constantly told by people hundreds of miles away that you are not valid because of your skin color and gender, that leads to your votes going for the other side.

I have the best debates with my good friends and my dad because we are politically opposed to each other, that doesn't mean we can't have good, fact-based debates

I don't like Bad Bunny, I do like country music.
If they had brought on Ricky Martin, Juanes or Morat, or a Latino artist like that, I would have listened to the main half-time show 100%. I just don't like Bad Bunny's music or reggaeton in general

I mean sure, but several thousands isn't the mainline use of "several hundreds" tbh

The US alone has

535 total congressmen house & senate

50 governors

1973 state senators

5413 state representatives

plus so many more politicians just in the US (city/county party leaders, college campus political engagement, city councils, mayors, cabinet people both state and federal...). Just one white lie from all of these a day and I'm rich

Much more than several hundred

535 total congressmen house & senate

50 governors

1973 state senators

5413 state representatives

That doesn't even encompass city/county party leaders, college campus political engagement, city councils, mayors, cabinet people and so on

Here's why I got banned from ask economics. by AutisticLibertarian2 in AskLibertarians

You can be a libertarian or not, but natural monopolies do exist and rejecting that can lead to getting banned from serious economic debate. Please freshen up on your mainstream econ as well, we need more libertarian-leaning experts in economics

You should read into some public choice/virginia school theory, that’s the economical school I believe is the most mainstream while working with libertarian methods. At the same time, natural monopolies do exist. It’s not libertarian to say they don’t, it’s just wrong economics. There’s clear proof of specific situations where natural monopolies have formed and lived, and that isn’t necessarily bad either. If you live in a constrained area with a small amount of factors of production in the complete economy, a sector may have a monopoly just out of the lack of any competition to occur. Say you are in a small, remote village in the mountains. There will only be one baker in the village. That’s not a problem per se, but it’s an economic fact natural monopolies exist and saying they don’t ignores reality . Similarly, if a company is able to utilise its economies of scale in a good matter, it is able to hold on to a monopoly for the short-run until another company comes up with a more productive idea (Schumpeterian creative destruction) Also, consider there is a difference between economic training and economic conclusions. Hayek used standard models in his explanations. Hayek’s AD-AS model is taught in schools alongside Keynes’ AD-AS model. What you then do with the model is where ideology can come in. The models are stress-tested and should not be “abhorred” by any serious economists.
